I just glanced at the latest issue of Road & Track today and it says that the '08 Accord won't be hitting the lots until October...

...I was kind of counting on Aug./Sept. :D

Do you think that would be the same date for the mainland? I would imagine it would be.

I am really, REALLY hoping the R&T information was wrong.

magazines like R&T tend to estimate delivery times. Sometimes I think the manufacturer might tell them October because they still have too many 07s to move, when in reality they are probably already "in production". However, a lot of times the magazine estimates in the wrong direction, and the model arrives LATER than they originally specify.

seems to vary by dealer as well. it also seems like they like to hold off the release of the new and mid model changed cars until the rest of the new fleet has hit the lots... best cue is to see when those other 08 hondas hit the lot. the accord will follow.

I think college hills honda already has 08' Pilots and Elements...:dunno:

I was watching their latest podcast in itunes, and I think those were the two 08's they said they already had.

This post (http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showpost.php?p=1191193&postcount=7) on V6P.com claims 08/15 for the sedans and 08/22 for the coupes. I sure hope this is true!!!!! :)

Boy if anyone is looking for a killer deal I would say to go shopping for an 07 when the 08's hit the lot. I got the deal of a century on my car simply because it's a manual transmission V6 and no one wants those models (relative to how many V6 automatics Honda sells). But with the introduction of a whole new model year that would be a killer time to buy an 07. I'm sure the dealership will practically lose money to move whatever 07's they have off the lot.

I'm not big on buying first model year cars. Even though my 03 Mazda 3 was a first model year, technically it had been out in Europe a year before it hit the states. I bought from the first batch that hit the dealership's lot and I never had a problem with it. I would think it will probably be safe to buy an 08 Accord simply because it's Honda. But just be prepared for first model year bugs because as good as Honda is, the 08 Accord is going to have bugs. Hopefully they will be minor.

I can't imagine Honda waiting until October to relase the Accord. But now would be a great time to get a close out deal on a left over 07.

I bet now is a great time to buy an 07 new, whereas, I bet November will be a great time to search for USED accords, as buttloads of folks with 03-07 models will be trading up to the 08 model, causing a glut in the market, and further depreciation on the 7th gen, unless the 8th gen proves unreliable, (hello new Camry)

I want to trade in my 05 soon, but I'm not stupid enough to pay near-MSRP for an Accord. I'm going to wait till the high demand falls enough to get about $1500 off MRSP, which I think is reasonable...any guesses as to when that might be? Mid-summer '08? or sooner?

^ I'd say you'll get the best deal on an '08 by waiting until the '09s come out.... so around this time next year.

I took a spin in one yesterday with the saleman, 9/10, so he could have one, plus someone else said in earlier post that they may be putting them on certain lots. I only took the demo model out, did not see another one there, but does not mean that this dealer would be getting more in soon.

My local dealer just got them in this week. My dad told me he saw them unloading them off the truck when he took the Ody in for oil change. I think I will go by on Sunday and test drive some cars!:naughty:
