Hello All,

Got another problem with the car. Here is the background: Put key into the ignition and turn the key to start the car. The car starts but right after you let go of the key, and it travels back to "on" position the car dies.

Here is the kicker: If you hold the key in the start position the car starts and stays running.

Battery has full charge.

So I am thinking it is the device (Please let me know the proper name of this device) that you put the key into to start the car. Also can someone give me instructions on how to remove that device. Thanks all.

I'd say you have a faulty ignition switch.

Ok done some research,

Found out the "device" is call the ignition key cylinder. Is this the same as the ignition switch you all are referring to? Is this device the issue that is cause the problem in my vehicle.

Also I need to know how to take the steering cover off. Princess I think you saw my signature line and gave me the info on my 98 but the problem maker is a 94 Accord LX 2-door, 4cycl, Manual Tranny. Please help. Thank you all.

If you go to a dealer's parts department you'll be asking for an ignition switch.

The one on my god mom's odyssey went out and she now has two keys. One for the doors, glovebox, and another for the actual engine.

may want to hit up a salvage yard. It could be much cheaper. It looks like, from the diagram that you only need the electrical switch part of that... and you could keep your same key.

I agree with mwmcginn, all you need to buy is the electrical part.
