I have a new 07 accord within 2 days I noticed a knocking noise in the rear. After taking to dealership, I have a defective shock and strut. The part is backordered till the end of the month. I don't feel I should be dealing with this so early on. I will get to talk to GM tomorrow. Any thoughts? Anyone else with the same problem??

Sucks it happened. I would suggest for them to remove the strut assembly from another new 07, put it on yours, and make THEM wait for the new part.

Joe is right. They need to disable THEIR car and take care of the customer, namely you.

Thanks for your advice. I traded my 05 TSX (which I LOVED), because I was looking for a lower payment. Seems to working out great so far....uh, no! I'm just digusted I have to deal with this at all. Again, thanks for the advice. Would like to hear from anyone who may have the same problem. The car had 200 miles on it when I noticed the popping noise.

just a bad part.:dunno:
if more of them start going out, then start worrying.
look at the bright side you could own a vw mk4. there entire suspension system needs to be replaced at 60k:paranoid:or you could do what my brother did. He just put a loud stereo in his car to cover up all the creaks, an squeaking noises:lmao::paranoid:

I seem to be having a similiar issue. Recently put 4 new Yokohama Avids on my 06 EX V6 from an independent tire shop. Had them do a 4 wheel alignment because the right side tires were wearing to much on one side. When I picked it up, the tech said that the rear could not be alligned. The camber was out of specs. He basically said that there is no adjustablity for the rear suspension from the factory. Fast forward to yesterday when I had the oil changed, I asked the Honda Service advisor to have the tech look at the right rear to see if anything was amiss. The report cam back that both rear struts are bent as well as the shock. The problem is, the car has not been in an accident and I'm the original owner. The service avisro asked me if I have hit any pot holes in the car. Duh! Everyone hits potholes while driving. I did not hit any that could have caused this type of damage. I threw that one back at him about parts should be strong enough to resist damage from a pothole. He said that they would not cover it under warranty and that I should contact Honda Corporate. That's my next step. Didn;t even offer to let me speak with the service manager.

You don't wait for someone to offer, it's up to you to speak to the service manger. If that has no effect then call corporate. You can tell them that you have already gone through the chain of command at the dealer (to no avail) which is why you're calling them.

Yup, I had it on mine as well. I thought it was just a rattle somewhere in the right rear. The dealer ended up changing the "shock tower" and the rattle went away.

I had the same problem right after I bought my 03 ... and the problem started right after I bought the car. The dealership repaired it and all was well.
