EDIT: My original setup is a Polk MOMO 6500 Components in the front doors. Polk DB690 in the rear shelf. And a Basslink in the trunk. The speakers are powered by a Rockford Fosgate Punch P450.4 and all crossovers, time alignment and EQ is done by a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.2 signal processor.

Now what I did to make it sound better:

Notice something missing? No more rear speakers! I can hear higher bass frequencies (60-100hz) much clearer now coming from the trunk and ported through the speaker holes to the cabin.

The fronts are running on the bridged channels from the amp so they get all the power they need.

A RadioShack SPL meter on a tripod -- I placed this in the driver's seat..

..connected to my laptop and running TrueRTA.

I previously only used the rear speakers to create this depth of field by playing around with the crossovers and time alignment. It worked nicely but now after spending a few days actually tuning the system with this RTA-like setup the fronts can create the real and original depth of field normally. Plus, front-staging sounds natural and more clear bass! And a cooler amp too.

I can now safely say the polk momo's are a great choice for our cars. Even with no modification to the door panels the output has almost no peaks or dips to mention. And with where I placed the tweeters the crossovers are set to -6db with some eq'ing on the 3sixty at the 5-20khz range.

I congratulate you on all the innovative work but I must say I am totally lost here. You have no rear speakers, only front speakers and new tweeters?

From his signature there is a Basslink in the trunk also.

Now I've got the picture, full sound stage in front of you (as it should be) and the BassLink in the rear is nondirectional so it fills in the low end.

Ah yes, good old AVS - no self-respecting rocket scientist could avoid that place! It's a danger zone for me, though...gotta get me some of those $500 Monster Cables don't you know - you don't want to let any of those sneaky little dBs escape!:paranoid:

Here is what I did...........I left the stock 6x9s in place.....they are more for rear fill anyhow. I installed a 12" JL audio sub (ported) and have it powered by an Alpine amp......next??

I just folded DOWN the rear seat armrest and ski port......whallllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Instant mega bass to the cars interior.
