Hey guys!

I'm new. Just registered. I've been lurking getting all sorts of useful (and some useless ;) information about the Honda Accords.

Never owned a foreign car in my life, nor has anyone in my immediate family.
I'm driving from Orlando, to Southeastern Honda in Palm Bay (about an hour) to try and make a good deal on the EX-L V6 Sedan. As long as I get decent trade-in values on my current car (because I still owe around $7k) I don't see why the deal won't happen.

I'm working on a 3 year / 12k mile lease. So far what is on the table is $299/month with $299 down. Is this good?

Well wish me luck!!

Welcome. :)

You won't be disappointed! We're on our 3rd Honda and never had a problem with any of them.

Good luck today. Don't forget to post pictures of your new car.

Sorry, I don't know anything about leasing since I financed my car.

Best of luck. That foreign car you speak of is likely made in Ohio!

Anytime you speak in terms of a monthly payment, you are playing right into the car dealer's hands. You should only be concerned with value of your trade-in and purchase price of your new car, and the resulting difference between the two. THAT is what you should be negotiating. AFTER that price point is settled, THEN you find the best possible financing rate and terms, and the dealer usually ISN'T where that is found.

I've found it to be very advantageous to use Capital One Auto Finance's "blank check", where you are pre-authorized to fill out their certified check (which they fed-ex to you) up to a certain dollar amount toward your car. This ability to pay in cash gives you some leverage as a buyer at the dealer and facilitates what I said above - not mixing financing terms into the car price deal. Just don't let the dealer see the blank check (tell them, but don't show them), because your dollar amount limit is printed on the check and you don't want to reveal your capacity to the dealer.

Or Canada, or Mexico...

No. EXV6 is made right at Ohio.

Other 4 cylinder models are made elsewhere...
