to wash your car???

It's been about 100+ & sunny for over a week now. Although I love this weather, I have no shade to wash my car in! She spots so quickly that even rinsing & rerinsing several times she'll be spotted before I can move her for drying in the garage!

Before sometimes I've waited until dusk, but this time of year that's a shorter time frame than in the Spring & early Summer.

I've also been out there washing her at 7AM before.....but lately I've been helping walk the boys to school. If I try any earlier it's too dark......

I have a dirty (dusty) car & it's starting to depress me!!:bawling:

I live in an apartment complex & don't have an area that is shaded to wash the car in. I usually get up around sunrise & wash both cars. If I have to, I'll wash one in the evening before sunset, but it's hotter then.

For washing in the sun I use... QEW... no spots .. dry each panel as you wash...

It seems that during the day the metal gets so hot even in the garage that when the sun's not on it in the evening that it still will spot. I'm hoping we'll have some cooler days this weekend & spend a day on both Hondas! It's been 2 weeks!!

When it's 100+ outside my inside (of the house) will get nearly that! So the garage is probably about the same as outside, in the shade. I like using the lawn to wash... the 2 birds thing.... but it's only shady at dusk & I'm too slow when washing it alone. When we work together we're fast enough for it not to be as much of an issue.

Is it compatiable with the polymer? I didn't see it mentioned. The zaino wash freshens up the shine each time. I haven't used anything else on either one.

I may write the company & ask them a bunch of questions....

Yes it is compatible..
A lot of the People on the detail forum use it w/Zaino...

kewl!!:D I knew you'd have an answer for my problem.... now to figure out a way to reach the whole roof.....I may have to put padding on my step ladder, I'm paranoid about it touching the car's surface!:(

If you start at the top you can open door and stand on rocker plate.. just be careful not to get water inside....

I just slip off my flip flops and step into the van barefoot when washing roof..

princess, don't worry, i'm 5'7" and have one heck of a time reaching the entire roof of my accord! :D sometimes i do what i1 suggested and open the door and stand on the thing. actually if i open the door that gives me just enough extra room to reach the whole roof without standing on it, but sometimes i prefer not stretching so much!

wih y first car i used those car wash stalls along the road a few times. we have tons of those in pa. problem with them is that most only have the high pressure spray. plus i had to take my mitt and bucket and chamois because i didn't like using the brushes or anything there. i basically went for the shade and water because i lived in an apartment complex at the time and didn'thave anywhere to do it there! it was either that or drive the hour to my parents house and hand wash it there, but by the time i'd get back it seemed to be dirty already!

Ok, this is going to sound stupid....even for me.....

When first bought this car, I did try it that way....standing with the door open & up on the doorjamb area....I still couldn't reach the middle.....close, but there was still triangles front & back that I couldn't get to.

So today I decided to try again. To prove to myself....take pictures is nessessary.....

Guess what?

I can reach now!!

No, I haven't grown....I've shrunk. Losing some weight & inches have made less of ME in the way!!

I'm constantly finding things different now! I can actually reach my whole car now!!!!

What a feeling of independence this is!!:D Thanks!!

When it's kinda hot (like maybe 80 degrees) I let water run over the car for a good long while. This cools the metal and paint enough so that I can actually wash and dry the whole car without spotting.
