Not sure if you've seen a coupe with the HFP kit on it, but it looks real nice especially taken in natural light and not some touched up press shot. Those HFP wheels look like 19 inchers. Can anyone confirm this? When you zoom in on the tire, it either says 17 or 19. But looking at the wheel, it looks too big to be a 17incher. The sedan looks nice as well. One thing is for sure, these accords look very upscale. I liked the 8th gen from the first pics on the net and definitely getting the 190HP 4 banger EX sedan. By far the best accords yet.

Yowza. I can't imagine anthing bigger than 18" on my current car, though I'd have a much lower profile tire so it's apples/oranges I guess.

Car looks great.

Such a shame they have to shred the preproduction cars...but I understand why they have to.

This car is going to sell well, especially when you consider the value this car has in the EX-V6 w/ NAVI model.

Shred? :(

So that sexy black Accord is probably on its way to it's death bed right now?

Noooooo. :( What a waste.

I think I need to stop looking at pictures of the 2008 coupe. These new pictures with the optional wheels are the stuff of wet dreams. I'm not at the point where I'm experiencing buyers remorse, but I'm getting close, so I'm going to take a break from the 2008 Accord section of this website for a bit.

I am with you. Haven't had a black accord since 1999 when I traded the 1995 Granada Black EX in. Had a 1994 Nightshade Gray and a 1995 Granada Black at the same time. Having them side by side was the only way to prove the Nightshade Gray was not Black. Those were quite a pair. And I usually don't like the idea of maintaining a black finish on a car.

There's no avoiding buyers remorse. I have dreams about the new '08 WRX's. They have 60/40 folding back seats, the ONLY reason I didn't get a 2006 or 2007. They get better mileage than the old ones too, but still not great. Though, I still love my current car, and it's about as fast, just no AWD or turbo. But I don't need that stuff anyway, and it's hard to justify the significantly greater emissions on the subaru turbos.

Yup, they use them for "Crash test data".

As far as I know they do have VINS

I was once doing some ride work on a DCX vehicle. All the OE's loan them to my company when we are doing development work or fixing a problem for them. For instance we have three cars in our garage right now with the cloth coverings on the body.

Anyhow I was almost ran off the road in a construction area. I clipped a construction cone with the side mirror and it went flying off.

I called the DCX Engineer I was working with and told him what happened he said not to worry about it they were just goint to total it anyway.:screwy:

What didn't make sense to me is that this vehicle was LOADED. i mean dvd, 6 disc cd changer, chrome package..

I believe that's an optional accessory, but I don't know that for certain.

I fail to understand why anyone would want a coupe that's that large.

If you buy a 2-door car, you're not looking to carry passengers on a regular basis; that's not what it's for. Generally speaking, you have a coupe because you want sportier character. And for a car as huge as the new Accord is, why would someone who wants a sporty car buy something that massive/heavy? And what use is that large area of unused space behind you? Do people need a back seat that large for nothing?

I'm sure it'll perform within reason (and I like the look of the coupe!), but basic physics dictates that a massive car won't be as agile as a lighter car... Which sort of defeats the purpose of owning a coupe, right?

Anyway, not a big deal-- I mean not to rip on the 8th Gen Accord coupe or berate anyone’s personal preferences, but a coupe this large doesn’t make sense to me! I do find it an intriguing question, though.

So why do you guys want such a behemoth?

If you're referring to the body side molding... No, it's not stock.... well, at least not according to this picture

So why do you guys want such a behemoth?

Because most Accord coupe buyers aren't looking for sports car. If you want a small car that will drive fast and do everything to ask of it go get a Corvette, S2000, Miata etc. Coupe's in this day and age are sedan based 2dr's. Period. It's not that much longer than the old one. If anything it will feel more stable at high speed, have better ride quality, fit 3-4 people easier. A coupe is a great vehicle for those who don't need the 4 doors but sometimes have to subject 1-2 people to the back seat; which by the way, isn't half bad as far as room goes in the current Accord.

Talk about big coupes.... has anyone not seen the 6-series coupe/cabriolet. It looks huge.:naughty:

What it comes down to really is... With Honda, if you're looking for a 2dr you can get either Civic, S2000, or Accord.

Looks like I'm not getting another Accord for a while, just not
impressed with the coupe and definitely not digging the sedan.

One of the biggest complaints with the Trans Am and Camaro. Little back seats. I have kids and don't care for plain sedans and minivans. I loved my WS6 but once the kiddies got bigger it was hard on them so it had to go. You guys in the States have the option of a GTO which I'd have now but they're not sold here. The Challenger and the Camaro are coming so the garage will be getting an update. I don't mind the imports but they don't satisfy me at all. They lack umpff.

The WS6 is a really fun drive. "Muscle" cars are fun, though I can't justify owning one at this point in my life due to being stuck w/ the bad gas mileage and questionable reliability. Maybe if I ever get to the point of being able to own 2 or more cars I'll buy a toy, but not now. I don't think I could ever justify buying a mustang though. There are WAY too many of them on the road (annoying!!). The closest I think I could ever get to a muscle car right now is a wrx (no sti please), and we all know that that's not exactly a muscle car.

I had absolutely no problems with my Trans Am other then rattles. But that just goes with them type of cars. The gas mileage isn't bad on them at all. I had the 6Spd and averaged around 25 mpg on highway. If you're honking on it it can get a little rough, but it pay to play. As for the Mustang, I'd never own one, but I think it's one of the best sounding cars with the H-Pipe. You can't beat the bang for the dollar with the Mustang, just not my cup-o-tea.

I like the trucks. My SS was stolen in January and miss it a lot. From what I've seen of the G8, it looks like a promising car for once from the General. Even the boys over on AZ have been impressed with it. So it must have some decent pedigree to have TL owners interested.

Good point, HERE's MY (judgemental) REBUTTLE!!!

I bought this car for practicality and fun to drive factor that comes w/ very little trade-off. The accord really isn't a cool car by most people's standards, while the mustang is trendy as hell (this attracts certain people to the mustang). I think that most (not all) mustang buyers buy mustangs because "mustangs are cool y'all, watch this wicked cool burnout as I beat the hell out of a car that will probably break down in 5 years anyway". Kind of loses it's appeal a little more than something like the accord when everyone has them. It only makes it worse that a lot of people who own mustangs are punk kids who got the base model and think they are tough stuff, or idiots who run burnouts at every stop light. I think I'd feel embarassed to own one along w/ those people. A lot of people have accords too, but for me, the purchase is going to be made using very different rationale. If the accord turned into an overcompensation-mobile / idiot-mobile like the mustang, I'd sell it rather than deal with the judgements and embarassment that would come along w/ owning it. BTW, I hate mustangs if you can't tell, though this is mainly because of the people who tend to buy them. Kind of like the firebird in the early 90's / late 80's. At least the trans-am had a different name.

Interesting thoughts on the Mustang buyers. I'll have to kinda agree that many (most?) Mustang buyers tend to buy the base model and then think they're the shit, though I have seen a few 5th gen. Shelby Mustang's here and there too.

I'm not really a mustang fan myself. But I do love and would like to own a first generation (1965-1967) Shelby Mustang :notworthy. The new 5th gen GT and Shelby's aren't too bad either. I really dislike the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gen. Mustangs though.

I've seen a few new Shelby's, and they do look cool, but I just can't get past the mustang-factor. The new GT's are freaking mighty. I'd rather buy a GTO though. I think they look a lot better overall and are less gimmicky. Plus, they LOOK like they have some decent cargo space. I haven't cared enough to really look closely though.
