Hello all,

I'm thinking about getting some HFP EP-R5 17" wheels (possibly next summer) for my 07 Accord Coupe EX-L V6 and I was wondering if it is possible to use my stock tires on them?

I'm happy with the "performance" of my stock tires so it would be great if I was able to use them without any problems. I'll probably sell the OEM wheels to recover some of my money for the HFP wheels.

Thanks for the help. :D

Oh btw, does anyone have any pictures of their 2006-2007 Accord Coupe V6 with these rims on? Hopefully someone has a silver car like mine with them.

Thanks again.

stock tires? yes

Great! Thanks for the info!

I know there better tires out there, so I'll upgrade when I need a new set.

I'm just researching the wheels right now...not sure if I'll get them.

the hfp silverstars are 17"x7". Your stock tires will fit on them. Here are some pictures of my car w/ the silverstars...

chanke4252, you got a VERY NICE wheel/suspension setup...I might just copy it!

Thanks for the info everyone.

Let's see how my plans play out.

I think those look better than the new 18" HFP wheels.

Thanks, I appreciate the comments everyone. It's a nice little setup. The ride isn't much more aggressive than stock, especially combined with the 17" hfp's rather than some 18+" wheels. Plus, it's hard to go wrong w/ the hfp silverstars. Powdercoating a set of TL wheels is an alternative and looks just as good imo, but you'll probably need new tires to cover the width.

Here are some more pictures of the same wheels and suspension on an 03-05 w/o the oem body kit. The first 3 pictures are actually off of the college hills honda site. I don't remember where the last picture is from, it's obviously honda supplied, but it's an unlowered 06-07 w/ the wheels. Hopefully that'll give you a better idea of what you want to get and whether or not to lower it...

These wheels look SO MUCH better in person than on camera. I would have probably gotten them this summer, but I have to use my money for this school years expenses.

Lowering my car is a issue for me. I'm 6'2" and my coupes current height is the lowest I would buy any car in. chanke4252, your pictures tempt me so much to lower my car with a shoe change, but any lower, it would be a interesting battle for me. I guess I'll have to find someone with the HFP suspension installed on their accord and experience it first hand then decide. (DE, MD, NJ, PA end of the summer meet anyone??)

Anyone suggest the best place to get the HFP silverstars wheels cheap?

Honestly, if your issue isn't related to scraping or ground clearance, I don't think lowering on the hfp kit is anything you are going to notice in terms of trouble getting into your car or something due to your height. It only lowers it about an inch (give or take) and it will feel exactly the same to enter/exit. I am a hair under 6' and I have no issues. But due to it's being a 2 door, and relatively low to the ground in the first place, it isn't going to be any easier to get into, but definately not any harder. Basically, if you like the way it looks, and want your car to handle slightly better, do it. The other concerns that are normally associated w/ lowering cars are pretty much nothing to worry about (scraping/clearance, ride quality) due to the fact that it is such a mild, mild drop on pretty forgiving springs/struts.

I am leaning to these wheels, or the TSX wheels. My concern would be the grey wheel on a grey car.

You want 17s to replace your factory equipped 18s? Don't do it! Why not V6 coupe 18s?

That gunmetal will look great on all colors.

might be a dumb question but can you lower the coupe without changing the stock shocks..say if you put in tein lowering springs.

Man..those silverstars are nice..i was gonna get them, but couldnt find them anywhere for less than 180. Maybe ill get some this summer also. Where would I sell the current rims I have on right now? Also, I have an EX coupe, will the stock tires still fit?

if your stock tires are 215/50/17 's then yes, the ep-r5's will fit them.. you can sell your stock rims in the classifieds i guess.
