I'd already talked to him about it, actually months ago when he first had his issues and I knew this sale was coming up - he wanted something that he didn't have to shoehorn himself into. And I can understand, since just me driving that car around for a couple of weeks was tough to get this old body in and out of. :thumbsdow

The kid who bought it is right out of college and wanted something sporty but long-lasting - perfect vehicle for that!

i thoguht those civic coupes seemed surprisingly roomy inside. they do sit lower to the ground though. i originally wanted to buy one, but the practicality of 4 doors won.... (threw that right back out the window when i got the accord though! :lmao: )

stiller didn't want my coupe ages ago either!

i don't think he likes coupes....

Once you get inside it's not too bad (but you lose all the backseat leg room when you slide the seats back to have enuf room up front) - but the real issue is getting in and out. Those suckers are LOW. Did help when I cranked the seat height adjustment up - wasn't on the floor as much as it was when the son passed it back. He's also one of those who drives with the seat reclined a lot - just moving the car in the driveway would be a challenge for me - looking at the ceiling! :paranoid:

anyway, it's gone and another early 20's male has it and is happy. It's funny - I drove from NH down to MA to deliver it to him (so I could have my plates back at the sale), then he drove me back to my house in NH, then he immediate hit the road to Buffalo - talk about trusting me to have the car ready for a road trip... Good thing I have kids and at least try to make sure they're not stuck on the side of the road - checking oil, fluids, tires, etc. Kids......

So what did your son buy to replace the Civic?

So what did your son buy to replace the Civic?
Well, it's complex - here's the scenario:

- Oldest son got the Civic when he started commuting to college in spring '04
- Middle son got to use my Accord when our old Saab died in '06

- Middle son goes to college in Boston, and can't have a car, and will borrow
Dad's Pilot when he's home
- Mom and Dad decide to sell 1 car to reduce insurance costs
- Oldest son gets asked whether he wants to keep his prized Civic or take on the Accord
- Oldest son (with a burst of atypical logic) decides a larger, lower-mileage, more family-oriented car that he can keep after he graduates is a good idea, so he gives up the Civic and now has the Accord
- Dad spends a week making the Civic presentable, puts it on Craigslist, and sells it to another "just out of college" kid who loves red coupes with a spoiler.

So, the son with the Civic now has an Accord, son who had the Accord now takes the bus coming home and uses the Pilot when he negotiates with me, and next summer, if we decide that the family requires a 4th vehicle...

... then DAD GETS TO PICK WHAT CAR HE WANTS TO BUY!!!!!:nuts::wave::thmsup::notworthy

You asked a simple question, and got a not-so-simple answer.....
