Has anyone seen any 08 Coupes yet? Especially around the Philadelphia area? I'm dying to see what the new Coupe looks like in person.

Thanks!

None in So Cal yet. I have a few dealers that I expect a call from over the next few days as they arrive. As soon as I get mine I will surely take some pics.

When I was down in Tampa on Saturday, there was one in the Kuhn Honda VW dealership. I didn't look at it, I was with my girl and she was driving.

They're not out in our area yet, carcrazy95, probably later this week/early next week sometime...

No coupes at the dealership here in tallahassee, they said it could be the end of the month or later before any arrive.

As I was on my way home from work this afternoon I saw an '08 coupe in the belize blue color. From a distance I thought is was just an IS350, but as I got closer I realized it was the new coupe. Unfortunately it was moving in the other direction, but it looked very nice in my 2 second glimpse. This one was an EX V6 with a spoiler, and it definately looked even better in person. I wasn't crazy about the color, but the car was NICE! The badges weren't covered up either, so I'm guessing one of the dealers in my area could be selling these already.

There was a black coupe in the showroom at my dealer today. It was a pretty slick lookin EX 4cyl, no navi. The cloth seats were nice, gauges looked cool, I liked the wheels even tho I didn't like them in the pictures. A quick glance in the trunk showed a center mounted subwoofer. I think it was only a 6-8" like what comes in the new civics.

I didn't play with it but the center stack on the non-navi models looks too busy to me. Not sure what the ease of use is because the keys weren't in the car for me to test, but I wasn't fond of the overall look.

There was a sedan in mystic green next to it and I must say I am not much of a fan of the green color, looks to blah to me. But comparing the two side by side I can say that I'm not too impressed with the sedans. They just look way too big to me, the coupe even looked as big if not bigger than my 7th gen. I think I would only be interested in the coupe model if I were to get an 8th gen.

Still haven't seen any 08 coupes yet, but they look great in the pics and I am lookin forward to seeing them at the dealer and on the streets. I needed a 4door for my job and everyday use, but if I didn't need the 4door an accord coupe would've been at the top of my list. The accord sedan is a great looking car, as far as sedans go and the green is hot too IMO (and almost every one else who's seen it). It's not everyone's cup of tea but I would have never bought a 7th gen accord either...to each their own:thumbsup:

Were there more coupes at that dealership, or was it just that one in the showroom? I'm just getting confused at the different stories that dealerships are telling me about the arrival time of the coupes. Some say the end of September, some mid October, some late October...huey.

If the Tallahassee dealership get any, it will be one and in the show room, and fully loaded. Thats how they usually tempt me, with the cars I want in the limelight.

Just the one in the showroom that I saw, I didn't look around too much for them tho because I was tryin to find the sales lady about a used coupe I was trying to get my brother to buy. Turns out she was showing a different person the same car who ended up buying it.

I thought it was weird seeing just an EX and not something fully loaded but I guess they aren't really out yet judging by others responses. I did ask the sales lady if they had any 08s before I was there earlier in the week and she said the sedans were there but they weren't sure when the coupes were gonna make it. They probably just put that black one I saw in the showroom that day.

Here is the lateset info I just got.....

The target dates for this car to get built is Alabaster Silver Metallic 10/13/2008 to 10/17/2008. Polished Metal 10/18/2008 to 10/22/2008. Nighthawk Black Pearl 9/19/2008 to 9/23/2008. Then we need to add 12 to 17 days before we actually get them in the dealers. The 2008 Accord Coupe's will first be out in the 4-cylinder, by about 5days. Then we will get the V6, and the V6 with Navi.

I'm guessing you meant 2007 for these to be built right? Seeing as I already saw the NHBP coupe, I dont see why this would be different by colors. Maybe by engine but dont see why colors would determine when the coupe gets built.

2007 would be correct. I just copied the email from one of the many dealers I have been getting sketchy info from.

Who knows....very disappointed that Honda can't get the cars to the dealer when they said they would.

Oh well,no rush for me...gonna make those dealers work! :)

If you really want that trim you don't need to worry about it. They can always locate you the exact car you want just that you may have to wait a day or two for them to get it. I was patient and I got exactly what I wanted with my 7th gen Coupe (because I'm paying for it after all!). :D

A silver on black Coupe arrived at Main Line Honda in Ardmore PA (just west of Philadelphia) yesterday. I checked it out, though did not drive it. It was a base 4 cylinder, cloth innterior model. Main Line Honda, in their usual practice of packing on dealer options, had already stuck on a horrendously ugly $785 "rear spoiler", wheel locks, mud guards, etc. to add another $1100 to the price.

My own personal bottom line -

Pros: much bigger than the previous Coupe (both good and bad); seems much more refined; enormous trunk; feels very comfortable inside; much snazzier than the previous Coupe.

Cons: the styling didn't look as good to me in person as it did in photos. Maybe it was the silver color (not my favorite), maybe it was the distraction of the ricer wing on the back, but somehow it looked disjointed, like parts of different cars that almost fit together were assembled into the Coupe. The front (A-pillar forward) looked heavy, fender line is higher than the door line, hood bulging (safety requirement?), and the rear had a little too much Chris Bangle-ized lines and angles.

I liked the car, but, somehow, many elements of the styling reminded me a little too much of the Oldsmobile Alero. I thought I would be "wow-ed", and instead, I was simply pleased.

I'll wait for a red one (my color choice) and see how that looks (to me, cars almost always look better in red, but that's a personal choice).

Just drove a V6 5AT Coupe in Polished Metal. This car was stunning in the Polished Metal with the sunlight making the metallic flakes popping - stunning enough that I may reconsider my original choice of San Marino Red. Overall, I liked the coupe even better in person. Next to the sedans, you would be hard pressed to guess they were both Accords. The coupe looks so much smaller than the sedans IMO. And from what I could tell, there are no LED brake lights. There are incandescent bulbs for brake and turnsignals and a row of red reflectors in the tail light assembly. Unless that row of red reflectors lights up, I don't think there are LEDs back there.

I didn't wind the engine up much since it was just off the truck, but my initial handling impressions were very good. Suspension felt much firmer than the sedans I have driven. That could have been due to the 18" wheels. The steering felt tighter (again due to the wider tires?) and it seemed to corner even flatter than the 08 sedans and the 07 coupes from recent test drives. On a short stretch of concrete highway riddled with expansion strips and seams, the ride was much more compliant than I expected considering how firm the sspension is. It was a comfortable ride and it sounded quieter than the sedan to me. I'd chalk that up to two less doors and less glass area.

Interior was noticably larger than the 07 coupe - I could turn my head without my ballcap brim hitting the sunvisor. It is cozier than the sedan but front and back there was plenty of space. Same interior as the sedan for the most part except the huge grab handles on the doors (which look awkward) and no auto dim mirror on coupes.

I went down there today (Sunday) and checked it out (of course the outside of the vehicle only b/c they were closed). My thoughts:

-The front is VERY aggressive and I love it!
-I wish the sedan got the projector lights and a similar front grille too. :(
-HUGE rear end! Like I have been saying since the pics were released, I'm not a huge fan of this and it makes the rear look way too bulky and out of place.
-I love it from the end of the doors, forward. From the end of the doors rear it looks out of place, and like others have said already, a few different cars thrown together.
-In general, I like silver cars but I don't think silver is the coupe's strong suit.
-It looked like the taillights were not LED so Honda's site is wrong.

Of course this is all subjective and to each their own. But the sedan had a better effect on me when I finally saw it in person, the coupe was not like this and it was the same effect (but overall, I liked the coupe from the pics already).

All around, I am even more confused than I was before! I am more of a sedan guy, but as time goes on, I appreciate coupes more and more. I've owned 3 cars in my life and only one was a coupe, and that was a looong time ago, so I'm not sure if this is a fad that I will quickly get sick of if I bought a coupe.

So...I like the '08 Accord coupe but not 100% sold on it yet, and a test drive is definitely in order. I think the sedan is nice too but a little boring and bigger than what I am looking for right now, and I'm not sure I would be happy w/ it in the long run. This all leads to my shopping for a new car a very  experience!

Oh and it looks like they got rid of the 60/40 fold down rear seats, and now the whole rear bench folds down like the sedan. I checked the website just now and it seems to confirm this.

Conicelli Honda in Norristown/Plymouth Meeting claims to have a San Marino Red one on their site but I pass their lot everyday and stopped early Sunday morning to see what they have and it's not on the lot. I am guessing it comes in this week or it is being hidden in a garage somewhere. :dunno:

Finally saw a dark silver(don't know the formal name) v6 coupe today in
Grand Blanc, MI on I75N, not bad in v6 trim, dual exhaust and bigger wheels/tires, ass end ruins it though, looked like a Hyundai Tiburon to me, front end is growing on me. We caught a light on saginaw st and he wouldn't go:dunno:, looked like an older guy transporting a car from another dealer, plate was in the rear window. Ex v6 looks alot better than the first 4 cyl
one I saw on the lot.

I'd bet that someone could pick up that 07exv6 for significantly less than the 08 though. If dealers there are anything like the ones here, they are hiding the new models and pushing the 07s as hard as possible. The only 08 I've seen displayed at the loacal dealer was an exlv6coupe. But all the 07s are lined up near the main highway with all the 08 sedans in the back corner.

That's it. Very sharp color for the coupe. I know Ihave been
bashing Honda's new designs esp the sedan but the v6 coupe didn't look
bad from the front or sides, just from behind. It has a lot of potential, I saw some photchops on gen7 or v6p with it lowered on 19's, very nice. Still don't think I'll be getting one unless they clean up the ass end next year.

It's oddly the opposite, and they have TONS of the '08s out front and the '07s are waaaay in the back.

It's just downright ridiculous to ask that much for an '07 LOL

sat in a black 4cyl coupe AT few days ago. I had to go to dealers to ask for some parts and on my way checked the showroom. Car looked a lot better in person and I think it will grow on people. Inside dash looks alright just has that plastic feel to it unlike the 7gen. Everything seemed to be placed appropriately and the headroom is much increased in the new coupe. My 04 V6 coupe has much sharper angle of the windshield than the new one and sometimes I feel my hair touching the roof if I pull my seat too close. This new coupe is much more spacious and everything seems a lot bigger. I haven't spent much time looking around the car but it looks really promising and people will buy it for sure.
