....appreciate your post.

(40k was being asked for an Infiniti G35 coupe a couple of semesters back.

That's when I went with a 6M coupe for $23.4)

Thanks again, ez....

WOW!! That's horrible. Did you happen to snap any pics though? I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like with all the body add-ons and the 19s. I can almost guarantee I wouldn't be a fan, but it just might look really nice. But 40k nice? Nah:jawdrop:

rofl, 40k? Wow...slimey freaking dealers. You'd have to be dumb as hell to pay that for an accord when you can get a brand new TL-S for MSRP, still pay considerably less, and end up with a much nicer, more capable and luxurious car. Hell, you'd have enough money left over to add pretty much any of the accessories that you wanted, and still probably pay less at MSRP. I suppose the coupe factor might be important to some, but I'm more interested in the not-being-totally-ripped-off factor.

$40k is outrages for a Accord. :screwy:

I'm guessing your dealership still has tons of 7th gen Accords to sell and that's why they "market adjusted" the prices of the 8th gen Accords prices so high.

If I could afford a $40K car, I would get a TL Type-S hands down.

I said will because it's a Coupe. Therefore it has not hit the lot yet. I just asked for a quote out of curiosity.

Shit..they are 40k here before the accessories. Can't remember exactly but I paid $46 sumfin I believe for my 06. TL-S starts at $48275.00. So with taxes and some accessories it would be around $60g.

I can't imagine what the 40k US would be market up to in Canada...

All of those accessories are pure profit to the dealer. I HATE when they do that by loading up the car with all of those accessories without asking the customer first. My car had some protection package when I bought and it was $600 (came with mud guards, door edge guards, wheel locks, sunroof wind deflector, trunk tray, and cargo net). I actually didn't mind all of those things and the fact I had almost $8K taken off MSRP meant I wasn't going to complain.

I bet some dude is going to pay $40K for that coupe just to be the first to have one. Then in two years when people are buying them for $500 over invoice he'll want to jump off a very tall building.

I'm really enjoying the 8th GEN portion of this site and seeing how wacky people will get to buy a 2008 Accord. While I enjoyed reading the other thread with the guy who traded in a brand new CR-V for the 08 Accord, I'm really looking forward to the coupe purchase stories and how screwed over those people are going to be. This is fun!

The sad thing is our dollar is worth more then yours now, but our prices never change to reflect currency. Your Base Corvette starts at 45g ours starts at $70000.00. $25000 premium for the exact car. Ripoff I say.lol

One thing in Canada though, it's illegal to markup. Good thing.lol

I would hate to meet the person who buys that for 40k. My guess is that they won't sell it as they'll be undercut by any dealer in the area. God, I can think of so many other cars I'd rather spend 40k on.

I bet you're right. You'd have to have someone who really loved and wanted all those bells and whistles to pay that price. Even so, the average joe would have to know all those accessories could be put on after the fact for a fraction of that. The accord is a good car, but for 40k I think I could find something better. I wonder if it would a bank would question a 40k loan on an accord?

I told you, the guys at Royal are scum :)

Service ain't much better.

They mis-printed the ad when I bought my old '00 sedan. It was supposed to be $2500 more than what was on their website, but they honored the price :) :)

haven't been in that place since. total dirtbags.

The service department at Royal is decent for the most part. The sales department, however, is just total douchebaggery.

The service department at Royal is decent for the most part. The sales department, however, is just total douchebaggery.

I felt opposite. The Sales Associate I was with was very competent when I was looking at the Fit. She was kind, let us go on the drive by ourselves (a rare thing!) and gave straight-forward numbers. She even did the minimal adjusting to the price with the finance manager right in front of me. It was not the best price, but it's probably the same every other Fit owner is paying to get a car so high in demand, with so little numbers of them coming in on a monthly basis.

Prices where high. But the Sales Personnel were top of their game for customer service anyways. - I've said this before, and I still think it true; Royal Honda has a good long list of repeat buyers who will come there just because it's familliar and friendly. They're the kind of buyers who don't have as much knowledge on what others are paying as we do, the kind of buyers who buy the useless paint protection package for $1100 etc.

Their service department upsets me because I know 3 women (All odyssey drivers) who took their cars there for service, and were then simply taken advantage of from a "Women don't know cars" standpoint.

Example.

My godmother brought in a fully serviced, and good running 1998 Honda Odyssey EX for an Oil Change, tire rotation, noisy cat shield, and a CEL.

The CEL - P04020 I think. Either that or P04070:dunno:

Anyways, they said it meant she needed a new transmission and that it'd be $3,230 OTD. They 'kindly' suggested that she come in and look at some new Odyssey's on their lot (this was at a time when new models were coming in. I can only imagine why they suggested this...), as her car was 'old' and just "not worth fixing"; the guy also went on to use some "breakdown on a road trip with the family scenarios..."

Yet, for some reason, on the road test portion of the service writeup the comment, which was entered by a different tech stated:

"Vehicle runs better than most for the year and miles, no issues to report. Brakes are a little more than half-worn. tires have plenty of tread, but 2 are showing signs of aging."

No flashing D4 light, and they did reset the CEL, and it has not come back on.

I'm still 1.5k away from my next oil change, I just don't know if it's gonna be at Royal. - There are some good guys in their service department for sure; I've spoken/met with a few, but I have issues with their tactics as a whole.

I think all the people who hate their Honda dealer's service in general should come together to form their own Honda Dealership. :lmao: - Who want's to pitch in guys!:lmao::naughty::deal:

Wonder if Royal Honda realizes that a full nose mask will not work if the front underbody spoiler is installed.:thumbsdow

It's an option on Honda's website...

Have you seen a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe to know this?

It's pretty much a given that it won't fit. They'd have 2 part#'s for different bras.

From H&A website:
Note: Won't fit with front underspoiler installed.
4-door shown on top, 2-door on the bottom.
Other than the above note, no I have not seen an 08 Coupe. Just because it's listed on the Honda website doesn't mean you can install both items i.e. splash guards and underbody spoilers.

Its common sense. Underbody spoiler will not allow it to work. Same w/ splash guards.

TL is that way. I could get a leather bra or splash guards if I wanted them (I don't)
