lookin good

thanks. i usually dont like to detail in the sun, but the temperature was about mid 80s today in orlando and i was able to get off of work early today so that was a great help.

for the interior, i used meguiars leather wipes, armor all cleaning wipes, stoners invisible glass, and a good old fashioned vacuum cleaner.

for the exterior, i used meguiars gold class car wash, scratch x, and gold class wax, using microfiber cloths to wash and some terry cloth towels to dry and remove the wax.

i think it came out really nice and the wax is essential right now since i heard love bug season is returning to florida.

Why didn't you do all the hard stuff in the garage! :dunno:

It's no fun buffing in the sun as I say :(.

Looks nice :)

lol, if there was room in the garage, id have buffed out everything right in there. its full of yard equipment, tools, a john deere tractor, cabinets, and lots of other fun stuff to mess around with in my spare time.

it wasnt too bad working in the sun since the wax was able to bake in really well and it wasnt that hot out to begin with. i think i like washing in the sun since you can actually see every water mark and bug that is hidden in the shade.

Almost 6 months and you still haven't removed that tag thingy where the glovebox is?

:lmao: finally someone mentioned the warning tag still hanging there. i never really felt like removing it.

it came with the car and should always be a part of that glovebox. the tag hanging there shows others who enter my car for the first time that i like to keep my car as close to showroom condition as i possibly can. ill remove it eventually, whenever the adhesive fully wears off.

Fair enough.

A girl I work with still has that clear plastic film on her '06 coupe's stereo display.

I joked about it with her and she sorta gave me the same response.... that she wanted to keep the car as close to new as possible.

It's all good.

Who knows, I might have done the same too had the dealer not removed them.

Holy crap that's rich!!!

Take care with the method you use to wash (2 bucket w/ grit gaurd is suggested), especially since she's black.. - If not swirl city!!

Nice looking chariot!

Nice work:thmsup:, I'm doing this soon as the new detailing products come in.

I like your rear lip spoiler and have been interested in picking one up for my sedan, is that a Honda part or aftermarket?

the lip spoiler is the actual honda part. i had the dealer install that spoiler when i bought the car 6 months ago. its a nice spoiler and really accentuates the curves of the trunk and gives the car a nice finished edge.

i originally wanted the wing spoiler, but i got a good look at an 06 accord at walmart with the wing and it was not as aesthetically pleasing as it looked on honda's website. i noticed a black one with a decklid spoiler on the road prior to purchasing my car and thought it looked much sportier and cleaner. the decklid just gives that complete look to the trunk as it sits nicely above the trunk led's.

How do those Polks sound? You just dropped them into the stock system?

How do those Polks sound? You just dropped them into the stock system?

the polk audio 6x9's are awesome speakers. they are 5 times better and much louder than the stock paperweight 6x9's. the magnet is about 10 times bigger than the stock speakers and produce nice, deep, clean bass. the highs are noticeably better, since they are 3-way speakers. mids and lows are noticeable improved as well. these speakers actually help fill in the front speakers and produce more even sound throughout the car compared to stock.

i hooked them up to the stock system with a speaker harness i purchased from circuit city. the harness fit perfect and the speakers are pretty much drop-in. i refuse to wire an amplifier since it might cause an issue with the battery not lasting as long as it should. the cars battery is only rated at 440 cold cranking amps, which is crap compared to other comparably sized batteries.

me and my co-worker had a minor issue installing them at first because of the limited space underneath the speaker grille. the holes eventually lined up and we were able to screw them down. if you plan to upgrade your 6x9's, be sure to use a proper small socket set to remove the factory ones and be careful when removing the grilles since the tabs on them are not that securely fastened. i lost a couple tabs, but was still able to fit the grilles back on perfectly. you cant even tell anything was modified in the rear deck unless you open the trunk.

Speaking of which, my mom hasn't removed it either from her 1999 4Runner :lmao:. It's got less than 65k miles on it so far.

I have a friend that still has it in his 06' too. He keeps his truck very clean so it still looks new but the tag is a little goofy and needs to go:lmao:
