gtspaceii, how about some more pictures of your ride? ;)

These pics were taken before I put the rear lip spoiler on. The difference is subtle but nice. Only mods for now are just cosmetic. Engine mods will be when my warranty's up.

I plan on adding a Type-R JDM front grill, some bigger exhaust tips (just for looks), custom fiberglass nav mount above the center vents for my Garmin Nuvi (probably finish that the end of Nov), maybe replace the rear Honda embelem with a JDM red H, and if I can convince my wife, a set of 18's or 19's (probably summer of '08).

Sweet ride and love the led turn signals. Does the yellow turn signals work as well?

Hey, nice ride, did you have to do some modifying and cutting behind the bumper to fit those Inspire style DEPO foglights?

Your fog lights look like hotness haha. Seriously great job. I wanted to do this mod but I know squat about wiring and this job requires some of that. Same question as Jiraiya, how much of the brackets on the bumper do you have to dremel off? Also, where did you get your switch and harness, how much wiring is required?

Nice silver sedan. Too bad NY state requires a front tag.

Nice car. Looks like an AV6 6MT (Accord V6 with a 6 speed manual tranny)? If you're gonna be upgrading wheels, I'll buy those OEM wheels off of you (if the price is right of course). :)

Yeah I have a set oft hose fogs, but it's made for the Asian Accord bumpers and JDM Inspire ones, I've seen a couple people make them fit US spec bumpers but there is a lot of cutting in the back of the bumper, but it looks better than the US ones.

...to each his own...

If they would've had the smoke tint headlights, I would've bought them instead and would've bought the smoke tail lights to match...my only other option is to put some 3M tint on them.

I didn't like the red factory tail lights because I thought they screamed "old man". :thumbsdow JMO

I guess it's the chrome on the tail lights I dont like. If you lightly smoked the lenses it would look good, the LED's are nice :D

I like the gray/black housing head lights better but was thinking of getting those same halo projectors off ebay that you have. Are you still happy with them? What about the fitment? Can you give me some close up pics of both sides?:biggrin::biggrin:

I definately like the oem tail lights better than those. They are too busy, as most aftermarket tail lights are. Great car though, those 6spd sedans are a rare thing, and a great thing.

I'm not into those tail lights, but everything else looks great! Very clean. Good job.

And I love the fogs. Looks good with that custom fitting.

Yes, but this is from a couple e-mail messages I had sent to another person. The message is kinda paraphrased...

"...First off, the foglight do fit the holes but... The US OEM foglight only requires four small cuts out of the foglight opening, then installiation is pretty much straight forward. As for the Depo fog lights, I eventually got them installed but it took me about two days of fabricating and cutting to get them fitted to the bumper. I think I did pretty good at fabricating the brackets with a decent complement of "garage" tools. If I had "professional-bodyshop-tools" I feel I could've done a better job. I think the worst part of the install was coming up with a rough design for the brackets. The next hard part was fabricating...

...The bad part of the foglight install was: as I was mocking/fitting the foglights to the bumper I kept on cutting away more and more plastic. To make a long story short, I had to cut away almost all the side wall of the plastic (but not up to the bumper face) and pretty much the back "lip" (where you originally made the four small cuts). So all that was left was a top and bottom plastic "shelf" with pretty much no structural support to hold the Depo foglights in place. And of course, that's where the fabed brackets came into play.

As I don't do a lot of metal fabrication but have a fairly good imagination, I didn't have much experience to poll from to create the brackets. In my own opinion, I'm proud of my work but think the final product doesn't look as "nice" as I wanted it to. But the foglights are straight though...that's all that counts right? No one will know the "Frankenstein" work that has been done to mount the foglights except me. In the end I decided to rivet the metal brackets to the remaining plastic so as to reinforce the holes and stabilize the foglights. If I had the facilities, I really would've like to weld the brackets together but I had to make do with what I had.

Each bracket I fabed up is comprised of 5 pieces of metal riveted together. The metal I bought is thick steel metal brackets designed for "home" construction (I couldn't think of anything else to use). I wanted the bracket to be comprised of as few pieces as possible but in the end, there were quite a few weird angles that normal bending just wouldn't work..."

From what I remember, the rest of the install went okay. It took me one weekend to do the bracket fabrication. After the brackets were made and mounted, installing the fogs was pretty easy. I bought the OEM fog wiring harness and switch. I noticed that other sellers now sell the Depo fogs with the wiring harness and switch. I'm assuming you have the latter.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer.

I bought them off of eBay. I think they look cool but in the end, they have given me nothing but headache. The top row of LED's burnt out (I replaced them) and the Halo's (also LED's) burnt out numerous times. Of course, I replaced them but they require soldering and are a pain to remove (removal of the front bumper to access them). In the end, I got my OEM headlights retrofitted and have them installed back on my car.

Sounds like a bad design of the LED circuitry, the LEDs are best known for their incrediblely long life span, typically 10,000 hours plus as a minimum.

You've demonstrated that the LED you replaced will continue to burn out in similar amount of time as it seems the LED are being driven much harder than their design specification, hence causing them to burn out prematurely..

Exactly! When I replaced the top row of LED's, the resistor to LED set-up was incorrect (the same for the Angel Eye LED circuit card). Needless to say, I replaced the resistors with the correct set-up, but the Angel Eyes were a different story. They used a simple tiny circuit card and finding a small enough resistor to allow the card to fit back into the headlight Angel Eye socket, was the downfall. The top row of LED's are/were going strong but two of the four Angel Eye's burned out prematurely.

I know, I could've just disconnected the Angel Eyes, but I liked the Retrofit Headlights better. Therefore, I had them made and installed on my car...and I think they even look better than the Aftermarket... My Accord was starting to look too aftermarkety (I know, it's not a word ).

You either like 'em or hate 'em.

Hindsights 20/20; I should've bought the smoke tail lights and asked them to smoke the retros...by the way, I no longer have those particular headlights, I just haven't posted new pics yet.

Finally finished... The end of October I purchased a Garmin Nuvi 250W. I wanted a custom integrated mount for the unit. I ended up having an audio shop do the custom integrated mount on a center vent piece I purchased designed for the Accord w/nav. To make a long story short, the audio shop did majority of the work but took so long (from the end of Oct to mid Dec) that the job was done for free (he told me this mid Nov) but... Since there was no monitary incentive, they did a half ass job. :thumbsdow

Needless to say, I was dissatisfied with the work and, therefore, improved upon the custom piece; so I can't take full credit for the custom job. I know, I should've taken before, during, and after pics but I didn't think about it until I finished the piece. It took me about 3 days to strip the paint, fiberglass and fill, sand, and repaint the piece. And here it is:

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q96/gtspaceii/DSC03379.jpg

Since the Garmin turns on when power is applied (when it's plugged in), I wired in a switch to turn the unit on and off... I installed a 12V accessory plug behind the vent and wired it into the 12V power next to the shifter.
