Has anyone mated their iPOD to the new 08 audio system w/Nav screen yet? What displays on the LCD screen??? I'm thinking I'd rather just plug in an iPOD than MP3 disc's.
I'm about to buy the new iTouch iPOD and want to know how the iPOD interfaces with the Honda Nav audio system.
Screen shots would be nice.
Thanks

The Navigation Screen Says: AUX, that's it.
This is the first time I have been able to hook-up an iPod to my car and I love it. Although it would have been nice if they had made it so you could control the iPod and see whats playing from the Navi screen. It really does not bother me though. I am glad it is just tucked away hidden in the center console.
Be careful about getting an iPod touch, I would wait for a 2nd generation version. Lots of problems reported with them. Also the capcity is quite small.
Costco has the new Classic ones which would be a better way to go IMHO.

I highly recommend reading the Apple forums before making a purchase of any of their over-rated products.

Thanks for the wisdom, I think I'll stick to MP3, at least they display the song, artist and album name info.

the touch has its strengths and weaknesses. I for one don't need to bring 100gb of media around, so I just programmed iTunes to load up random songs 8gb at a time (favoring my higher rated songs of course) I'd be wary of leaving an iPod in the car. I had my old nano stolen in a smash and grab last month and it wasn't all that obvious either. The touch is a little tricky to control while driving. My nano wasn't so bad because it had a shield that made it very easy to feel for the scrollwheel. The Touch ironically is difficult to control by touch alone.

I have a 16GB iPod Touch and it works pretty darn well. The only ones that seems to have the problem is the week 37 model. I have the week 38. I just found out that the USA Spec iPod adaptor for our 7th gen can let you to control the Touch with the radio's and steering wheel buttons so it's a huge plus.

Just for fun I'm going to borrow my son's iPOD. he bought one last year that I think is 80GB and plays video's.
I'll fool around with it and take some screen shots of what displays on the Nav LCD screen.

If you get more then a giant A U X on the navi screen I would be surprised since its just an audio input.

Honda is working on a new adaptor but their interface was horrible. Had this horrible TTS and it didn't show the song name. The aux in is nice. No video controls though. As for the aux in you can get a cable at radio shack that has 1/8" stereo connectors. Those connectors are headphone jack ports. That way you can use the aux in. The aux in inputs audio and you use the ipod to control it. USAspec has a more integrated solution but honda could be releasing a new adaptor. Doesn't show the song titles though like the honda adaptor. Just some info.

You know what would be VERY nice to have now that i think of it... For the navi equipped models, you should be able to watch videos from your iPod on the navi screen. THAT WOULD BE SWEET! :)

The USAspec PA11-HON2Y isn't compatible with the ipod touch. A new ipod adaptor is coming out. I hear it will be identical to the one on the 7th gen one. It wont come with TTS. I don't know if it will show the sound data. Could come this month or next month.
