alright - had my new accord (08 exl) for two weeks now. When i first got in the car i noticed that i couldn't find harmony between the seat height/adjustment and the steering wheel. I figured that I would eventually just figure it out and the problem would take care of itself. However, after having it for two weeks I still find myself adjusting and never quite feeling comfortable. For instance:
1. If I lower the seat, I can see the gauges, but I feel like i'm reaching to the ceiling to grab the top of the wheel.
2. If I raise the seat the wheel covers the entire top side of the instrument panel.
Am I missing something? Any tips? Is this a function of me being 6' 4"? I upgraded to this car from a 94 accord and NEVER had this problem.

Just checking - you mentioned nothing about tilting or telescoping the steering wheel. You do realize it can be adjusted for reach and height?
With that said, I've run into the same thing. I like the wheel low in my lap like I'm driving a go-kart. When the seat/pedal relationship is good and I adjust the steering wheel to where its comfortable, I can't see the top 1/4 of the gauges. I have to lower my head to see the top part of the speedo.
You just have to pick one. Max comfort or complete visibility of the gauges. I prefer to be comfortable. On the highway since I can't readily see 50mph - 90mph area, I use cruise as often as possible.

I like to have the top of the steering wheel lined up with the arch of the instrument cluster so I can see everything unobstructed.
Then I adjust the seat according to my driving mood.
I do like the new power lumbar support. It is much more noticable then the manual one in Pre Gen 8.

No, go Flyers!
I mentioned your same issue in another thread actually, and I too drive a '94 Accord but could not find a seating position that suited me when I first got behind the wheel of an '08. Good luck w/ it all and I hope you can find a way to make it work!

yeah i know about the wheel adjustments too - guess i'll go with the comfort thing - that makes much more sense. thanks for the input.
I don't recall people complaining about Honda's tilt steering in previous gens. There were wishes for telescopic design but why did it have to preclude the full tilt on '08?
I like the steering wheel in my lap as well; one can stay in more relaxed position during long trips instead of hanging off the wheel :D
Otherwise, I like it. I got Belize Blue EX I4 AT.
