Just a quick question:

Do they only give you one FOBKey with the Accord or two? What about a valet key?

Great, thanks. I wasn't sure if I was going to have to buy a second FOB Key. In the famous words of GIJoe: Now I know, and knowings half the battle.

Yes that last bit was really dorky.

I wish I would have asked for another one as part of the sale terms, like right before I signed anything. I bet they would have thrown one in.

The valet key does not have the remote buttons on it and it only works the door lock and ignition. It will not unlock the trunk, glovebox, remote trunk/fuel door lock or ski-slot lock if you have one. This way you can secure you belongings before you hand your car over to someone to park or work on the car. If you lock all of the formentened items with your standard key, the valet key will not unlock them.

When I bought my car, which was used, it came with two key fobs and two valet keys.

I am trying to work with the dealer that I bought mine from (Acura dealer) for the TL switchblade key. He talked to someone in service who claims it would never work. I then told him I would just talk to another dealer and now he is checking it out for me. I sent him the thread in the DIY section.

I went to one of the acura dealers in town. They did the cutting for free. I took the chip out of my valet key.

If you loose your chipped keys, your SOL, get with the dealer, they are just waiting later for you to have to pay for another one and a reprogram, contact Honda upstairs if the dealer wont fess up another for you.
