Alabaster silver with black leather interior.

I regret to do this but an up-coming surgery is forcing me to get rid of my manual transmission car.

I am the original owner and bought it new in April of 2006. It currently has 25,000 miles which are mostly highway miles due to my long commute to work.

Besides the standard options the EX V6 6MT with Navigation comes with, I also have the following add-ons:

* OEM fog lights
* tinted windows
* 3M clear tape on the front and rear bumpers
* USA Spec iPod hookup

I take care of this car myself meticulously, using only Mobile 1 full synthetic oil and hand washing/waxing (including full clay bar detailing).

Please feel free to PM or email me at scjparker {at} yahoo [dot] com with any questions. I am willing to discuss any reasonable offers from potential buyers.

Thanks,
Steve

p.s. here's one pic below- feel free to contact me for more.

OK- just go my surgery done and I can't drive a MT car. I need to get rid of this. Anyone interested- even for a trade for an AT car?

Thanks,
Steve

Hey Stiller fan- that might be a very good suggestion. Thanks. I've had it on cars.com for a few weeks now and only received one call so far-- and my asking price is way better than similarly equipped Accords. Weird...

Anyway, I might give autotrader a try- thanks for the advice!

Steve - I sold my son's '04 Civic in the Boston/NH area recently via craigslist.com, and it went very fast. You do get a fair number of emails, but you can pretty easily sort through the real interest from the not-so-real ones. They let you put 4 photos in there and a bunch of text all for free, and the emails come to a hidden email address so you don't get any spamming, etc. I'd traditionally used cars.com or autotrader.com, but a dent wizard guy who helped get some small dents out of the Civic recommended I try craigslist, and it worked out great!!!

Good luck - andy

Your car is gorgeous! I second the craigslist.org suggestion. That site rocks! - Free too.

I have a 2006 Accord EX-L V6 with Navi for sale on Autotrader, ebay, here, and a local news paper. Listed from between 18K to 20K and only receive 2 calls in about 3 months. For some reason nobody seems to want to pay more than $12K for the cars...seems to be the best offers I have gotten.

Good luck.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I've had it on craigslist for a few weeks and got a few emails, fewer calls, and zero in-person meetings.

Maybe it's just not prime-time for selling a sporty coupe. I think most potential buyers are looking for this type of car at the beginning of summer. Bummer- but maybe this is a sign that I should hold on to it-- I hate the thought of selling it, if you haven't noticed :)

Thanks again for all the suggestions,
Steve

I know what you mean...I don't really want to sell mine either, but I can't keep a car, truck and a motorcycle.

I guess I will hold out until I get a decent offer.

Good luck with the sale.

Yep- pretty much a big bummer...

Well, good luck with your sale too.

Cheers,
Steve

I guess it has to do more with the 07 year end blow outs. Honda was giving crazy deals on 07 left overs i.e 3K below invoice. So thats caused the used market to go totally dead.

True- I'm sure that influences resale as well. But I've taken that into account in my asking price. I guess people figure if they're going to spend that much, might as well pony up and spend a few thousand more to get a brand new car...

I think most of the 07s are gone now-- at least navi equipped models in my area are (I've done my own research). I'd think this would make a car with the options I have (Navi, V6, 6MT) a little more attractive. :dunno:

Cheers,
Steve

I agree, we are already asking well below the value.

I don't think I will ever buy a new car again. Unless I win the lottery. There are a lot of other cost that go along with it. I just bought my truck used, and it's in almost new condition. I saved almost $10,000 buying it used.

Sold!

Do you mind me asking how much you sold it for?

Since I have almost and identical car, except black and mine is AT....I have been having trouble selling it, though my car is in near showroom condition.

I think I am about to sell it this week...I have a couple of people interested in it, but I had to lower the price a lot.

I think I am going to end up getting 17K for mine...someone is going to probably steal it from me.

man, i would have traded cars with you!

i want a manual transmission so bad..

ericrwalker
12-23-2007, 01:46 PM
You paid 17.8K for what?

I doubt you paid 17.8 for an EX-L V6 with Navi....dealers are still selling used 2006 for 23K...maybe you paid 17.8 plus a trade in and tax.

i paid 17.8k for 2005 coupe ATV6 at 25k miles..

the ironic thing is, this post was made the day i bought my car.. 2 months ago exactly.

ericrwalker

what model was it? LX, SE? Like I said, I doubt it was for an EX-L V6 with Navigation.

EX-L without navigation...

this is at a dealer though. if it were with a private dealer, i would have paid about 1k less.

compared to mine, your car is better in that it's newer (1 year) with navigation (getting navigation is a bad thing for resale though).. but your car has more miles. at a dealer, your car should be worth more than mine (the GPS and 2006 model year are worth more than the 11k in mileage on a 2005). if i were buying a car like yours, i think i would pay maybe 18.5k OTD (at the dealer).. so, in dealing with a private seller, i'd expect to pay a maximum of 17k pre-taxes.

ericrwalker
12-23-2007, 01:59 PM
that still seems like a really good prices even without navigation. I also didn't realize your car is also a 2005 so it's not too bad.

mistabeo
12-23-2007, 02:13 PM
i agree with you though, buying a car new is not worth it.. and this is exactly why.

the deal i got was good, but it wasn't even that great. i think i could have gotten it cheaper actually.

scjparker

I sold it for $20k, which is less than I wanted to get but there was not much interest and I needed to sell it so I was willing to make a deal. The lead came through craigslist, so maybe you should try that if you haven't already.

Good luck, and Happy Holidays!

ericrwalker

Wow, good for you...20K is what I was trying to sell it for at one time...Then I lowered it to 18.5...Now I am looking at low to mid 17s...I have an offer of 16.9 with my 80,000 mile extended warranty....that's with 66 detailed pictures and 6 videos that I send to people who are interested and they agree on how well maintained the car is.

Thanks for the reply and congrats on the sell.
I've tried craigslist, but I got no leads.

I know how frustrating the process can be. I started off at $22k and gradually lowered and lowered the price. I think winter time is bad in general for selling cars, and combine that with the fact that the coupe is seen as more of a "summer fun" car, and, well, you know how things go.

Good luck with the sale!

mistabeo
12-25-2007, 07:14 PM
wow, you got 20k? you can't expect more than that.. you suckered someone. i could get a car like that for under 19.5k at a dealer. that's AFTER taxes.

boston's not too far eric, maybe you should try selling it there haha.

ericrwalker
12-25-2007, 07:16 PM
I still don't think you are going to get it for 19.5 at a dealer....maybe 22K before taxes....for an 06 EX-L V6 WITH navigation.

FYI ... I've been told that navigation adds $200 to trade in value and $500 to the sale price for our cars on the used market.

ericrwalker
12-26-2007, 06:44 AM
No doubt...it doesn't add much, but mistabeo bought a 2005 not a 2006, which there is a difference there.

Sounds like you are depressed on not selling your car, still. No luck on Craigslist, Ebay, AutoTrader, posting it at the PX, or even the Commisary? Best of luck. Post some current pictures, showing the door dings you talk about, and the current miles, along with the options. Your picture scene is good but leave the CBR at home.

just caught this because I don't frequent these forums as much as I used to now that my accord is gone...

mistabeo:
I'm wondering why you think I "suckered" someone when you never saw my car. Have you done the research to determine how much my car is worth? The price I sold my car for is UNDER KKB, NADA, and Edmunds private party values. And these estimations don't include things like tinted windows, iPod integration, or 3M clear bra.

The guy I sold my car to was informed, negotiated well, and got a fair deal. If anything, I feel I sold it for less than it's worth.

I really think you should be more informed before you make such off-base statements.

Depressed? hardly...that's a little too strong of a world.

 Congrats on selling the car. What are your plans for the Ridgeline and why did you decide to switch from a nice coupe to a city type truck?

Thanks, 2 reasons...the extra two doors don't give a reason for people to complain about getting in the back and when I go on trips I can throw my bike in the back and take it with me.

Do you plan on PCSing soon? As soon as I get to Fort Rucker I will be buying a bike like yours or a GSXR750 or 1000. We will see.

No PCSing that I am looking forward too.

Fort Rucker is a good place for a bike, you can ride it all year round there. The new GSXR's are nice...I didn't like the last generation though.

that's sad that i was interested in trading a 2008 accord AT coupe EX with yours since i traded in my infiniti fx35 for the car and feel it's a little bit underpower to me ~~
