Either the vehicles aren't selling, or the economy is rather poor around here.
Local dealership (Honda of Oakland) is selling all 08 Accords for about $200 over listed invoice, and has no problems going lower than that. One person just bought a EX I4 for 500 under listed invoice.
damn i wish i am there to get my 08 :(

Another dealer in the area, Anderson Honda, is offering the same.

INVOICE. The so-called "INVOICE" that KBB, Edmunds, Cars.com, etc gives you.

I bought my '03 EX-V6 (Leather, everything but navi) in August '03 - the first model year - for $23.4K, which was $250 less than invoice (yes, the price of Accords has gone up), plus 2.9% financing. Since all indications are that Honda is maxing out production, I would expect similar deals this year for the '08s.

Andersen is supposed to match any local dealers and beat their price by $100 too...so not surprising. Someone should check El Cerrito and San Leandro Honda...they usually give pretty good deals.

Thats really hard to believe BUT it is possible. BUT i can guarantee that NO dealership will sell COUPES for that price.

I bought mine in Tracy for 300 over invoice. Other dealerships in dublin and pleasanton offered 500 over invoice. Due to its late release, I think the Accord lost most of its perspective buyers to Camry or Altima. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me. I got a great deal and there aren't that many 08s out on the road yet.

Anderson offered to beat the price by $100. I casually mentioned if he could do 23,500 on a EX V6, so he called me and said that he could beat Oakland's price by $200, but he said that there was definitely a possibility he could beat it by more than that, but we would have to talk about it in person.
