Today I got a brand new Bissell Proheat 9500. I have no spots on the carpet, but it's starting to get a bit of traffic paths showing.
Now the couches in the living room DO need a good cleaning.....they're "kite-string" white. No one eats on them, but just housemates relaxing in front of the TV in there has made them dingy looking. THAT'S what I'm looking forward to cleaning.
I doubt I'll ever need it on the car's carpets.... but I made sure it had the attachments. It has a powerhead for upholstry, 4", 3" & 2" brush things, a crevice wand 7 a hard floor thing.
This thing is supposed to heat the hot tap water up another 25 degrees & we already have very hot water!!
Now to find the time to use it......:dunno:
I did the "some assembly required" myself!!! (hopefully the handle won't fall off):paranoid:

NICE!!
In case you've never tried it I (as well as many other who detail) swear by Folex cleaner.. spray on and steam away...
It can be purchased at Home Depot

I've used Folex before. Yeah, great stuff. I'm hpoing it works on the couches. They're a mess!!!
Sad thing is that it's not the boys that did it. It was Jacob. I kept asking him to use a sheet when he slept there, he wouldn't do it. So over time his body & hair attracted grime. I'd love to jsut throw them away, but a steam clean was much cheaper than new ones.
Once they're clean, they should stay that way for quite a while.
The new wood chipper also came today! Now when it's time to prune back the cherry trees & the plum tree I won't have to do it in shifts to fit all the branches in the can! We'll just chip it up & scatter it in the flowerbeds.
Of course, Rella, (the ugly dog) will be chewing the chips & leaving them all over the patio.:thumbsdow Bad dog!!!

Used to call that "Kelvinator" White. Only a few of us here will know what a Kelvinator was. Nice buy, tell us how well it performs. I would sure like to know for couches, cars, and more.

That's what "kite string" white is?
I had these couches made 11 years ago. I've loved them!! But I simply grabbed the material I liked. I didn't read the name or type. All I know is that it's washable..... unlike my lazyboy couch!!:thumbsdow It's that velvety stuff.... not velour, not microfiber. It's kinda like cord-a-roy without the stripes. It's an "S" type & sin't washable. It has to be chemicallly cleaned. It's a pain, but it's comfy!!:D

I plan to do befores & afters.... I'm anxious to see the partially done. One cushion cleaned & one not.
It may be mighty embarrassing though!!:paranoid:
I'll have to wear my Eeyore cover-alls for effect.:lmao:

Just for the heck of it do a portion of your Accord mats also, like half and half. You might be surprised what it pulls out. The Princess side likely gets the most wear, especially under the go pedal.

There's probably a "go pedal" imprint on the mat :D

My car gets very little tracked in it. I'm careful where I walk.
But I'll see if I can humor y'all & do a half test thing one of these days.

My grandmother use to have a white formal room. White carpet, white furniture, white walls and a black piano. The whole family was like WTF is wrong with her.

I had those couches made before I knew that I wasn't all done with kids around!! MY baby was 15 at the time. :dunno:
They did well until they weren't just being sat on..... no couch like to be laid on too much.... There's even been a throw blanket to help potential couch potatoes not get them grundgy. So much for that.
It nearly all happened from ONE person....:thumbsdow
We'll see how well I can clean them. I need to buy better products than the stuff that came with the Bissell though. It'll be fine for the carpet.... there's nothing to see on it. But the couches, although there's no SPOTS, has a look that may need something potent! I'll head to Home Depot over the weekend & see what they have. I don't remember if Folex has stuff for upholstry.:dunno:

You really should use oxyclean and warm water and use your new steam cleaner afterwards. See this thread over at detail city for instructions and pictures: http://www.detailcity.org/forums/detailing-general/6916-carpet-upholstery-cleaning-gsrstilez.html
