Meet Pongo, my 3rd Gen Accord. 1988 to be exact.

Another shot of my car. You gotta love the faded trim along the bumpers!

Overall, he's in fairly good shape. He has his share of dents and dings and scratches, but they give him character.

As some of you probably noticed, it is an LX-i. I love my moonroof and fuel-injection.

It's the only one I have right now. Sorry about the glare.

Man, I miss my old 3rd gen, LX-i, it was spectacular, the transmission was top notch and the car was light and nimble, its what Honda's used to be all about, now I feel they have lost that

Whoa! Flashback-ack-ack-ack-ack-ack!!:dude:

Dad owned an '88 LXi Coupe back in the day... I think the color was called Monterey Green. It sat on the floor at Keenan Honda in Doylestown PA. (our Honda dealer of choice). The interior was a beautiful light ivory. The dashtop and wheel were black and the bottom half was ivory. The color scheme carried over into the doors in a striking wraparound fashion. I also remember Honda deleted the black portion on the top of the door panels and backseat area the next year :screwy:. The doors were solid ivory only. Lost the carry-over effect from the dash to doors. Looked really stupid.

It was a neat car that deserved some more get up and go. Tepid acceleration was standard. Also the variable ratio steering was really weird. Very low effort at slow speeds then *BAM * a switch to higher effort. It was very artificial and crude. Otherwise it was a 7/8ths Acura Legend Coupe.

Thanks for the memories!:)

My aunt had a 1989 Accord LX.
It was a baby blue sedan, stick.
It was nice! :)
Oh and the INTERIOR WAS BLUE TOO!!!
HAHA! Classic, eh?

yay! another 3rd genner!

Yours is nice. I wish mine were the LX-i. But I'm happy mine isn't an Automatic.

I suppose we can't all be as lucky to have a manual. Although, we also have a '92 Accord EX with the 5-speed, so that more than makes up for my automatic.

Very nice Accord---and fairly low miles, as well. My '05 will probably have 106,000 on it in another two years or so!
