Im wanting to upgrade the crappy POS stock tires on my 08 Coupe V6MT. Can anyone suggest tires that have better traction and performace than the Stock ones? Price is not an issue.

Also want to get some Lightweight Wheels cause the OEM Honda Rims are quite heavy!

Any suggestions?

Ok I did a bit of researach on TIRES first, and narrowed it down to these 3 brands that are ALL SEASON Ultra High Performance.
I would like to get some actual feedback so that I could then decided which one is better than the other. (I know the most expensive does not mean its the best)

YOKOHAMA Avid W4S $144/each

MICHELIN Pilot Sport A/S $194/each

BRIDGESTONE Potenza RE 960AS Pole Position $169/each

I have had great results with Yokohama tires in the past. In fact, I replaced the Michelin tires w/ Yoko's on my Bimmer when I was stationed in Germany. They were great on the Autobahns. I don't have any experience with Bridgestome's, so I can't help you there.
I do know on my 4Runner, I hate the Dunflops! Not sure if their car tires are the same.

i'd personally go with the michelin pilot sport a/s because of the treadwear rating and all-season capability. these tires have many favorable reviews on tirerack.com.

if money was a concern, id go with the bridgestone re960. both of these tires have mostly good reviews on tirerack. its all a matter of brand preference.

from the reviews, it seems that the michelins will perform the same pretty much throughout the life of the tire, which will probably be about 30-45k. its strange how some can get only 20k out of some tires and others can get 50-60k. i guess it all depends on where you live and the driving conditions.

the michelins provide good snow traction, as well as excellent wet and dry. if you live in a snowy climate, id stick with the michelins. if you don't live in snowy climate, id go with the bridgestones for slightly better dry and wet traction.

i never tried yokohoma tires before, but ive seen performance cars wearing them, so they should be pretty good for dry grip, as well as wet.

weight is another factor to consider for gas mileage and rolling resistance. for all around gas mileage and year-round performance, i'd vote in favor of the michelin since it seems to be a better compromise for overall grip in all conditions and weight.

hope this helps :)

Maybe just have a look at the Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S. I have these and I'm very satisfied about them...

Probably will buy these again next time...

Those Pirelli's are amazing and light (in terms of tire heft) ... many of my friends have them and swear by them now.

I personally like BFG Traction T/A's ...but they run down quickly and run with the crown of the road, but outperform any other tire I've had experience with in the corners.

I tried the YOKOHAMA AVID dbS2 in my 05 EXL V6. They were good tires BUT i only got like 20K out of them!

Heres what i am looking for my next purchase of tires: light weight, better traction and less noise.

OK I've decided to put widers ties (245/40/18) on my 08 V6MT. Heres the few I narrowed it down to, but cant decide which ones to get.

Yokohama ADVAN S4 (Ultra High Performance All-Season) $222/each

Pirelli PZero Nero M&S RFT (Ultra High Performance All-Season) $252/each

Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position (Ultra High Performance All-Season) $202/each

Will those fit on the rims? Or are you going to have to get new ones?
