i will say, she has some HUGE SHOES to fill..... :notworthy

she will be going against my personal benchmark, my old 1993 accord that was reluctantly retired at 340k miles....

Look in your manual for headlight adjustment, should be a bubble gauge for the vertical adjustment where the top of the headlight meets the fender. Very easy to do, don't even need a wall just a flat surface.

drives well. a bit more bumpy than what i was expecting on the highway. but, that may be due to the low tread on the tires....

Congrats on the car, looks good! It should last every bit as long as the 93, although that will ultimately depend on how well it was cared for by the previous owner(s). Mechanically, the two cars are very similar.

Congrats and it looks good! www.Weathertech.com has some allseason ones for the 6th gen coupe..I just checked a few weeks ago. You can also choose fronts only or get all 4.

Ha, driving in philly, it will probably be totally off soon enough. Love the cheese steaks though. I tell myself that this is why people live there.

Nice catch Josh.

Go to walmart or sams and get yourself some nice aftermarket all-season floor mats. Don't waste your money on the Honda ones as they aren't 1/2 as good in the snow as the SUV type at Walmart. Check it out...they hold tons of water and won't spill in your car.

Makes me miss the blue coupe we had. The 6th gen I-4 was a great car. Solid built, no rattles, and Honda reliable....

there are a few issues with my car so far....

namely:

- rattles
- an at random missing under moderate acceleration at times (very random)
- other things listed in the forum beforehand

i am still satisfied with my purchase, and knew that going in, it was not going to be a perfect car. :)

My car had random hesitation too. It was a bit better when the oil level was right up at the top hole. Theories are all over the place, from bad idle speed to just normal VTEC engagement delay to low oil pressure. Who knows...I got used to it.

i am very glad as well..... that way, i won't have to worry about the tranny blowing up on me, as look as the maintenance is done properly (which it will)....

only thing that i'll have to worry about is a clutch replacement.

Stiller fan, congrats on the upgraded Accord! How does the clutch feel? I could see it going at around 125k or so if it was not properly driven.

stiller fan
11-18-2007, 11:25 AM
the clutch feels fine. no slippage or anything of that sort....

got the hesitation again this aftn when coming home from church.

this time: about 1/2 sec cut out, car in 4th gear, rpms ~ 2500....

what gives??? this is starting to worry me.... :paranoid:

279,567 orig. clutch miles here.....

If you don't wear the clutch out it should last. Avoid holding it down after you've engaged a gear while moving.

Engine could use a once-over just to clear out some of the gunk, but other than that it looks good to me. I hope it lasts as long as your last car. That shifter brings back memories as it looks like what I had in my 5th gen. If only they still used that shifter and put it in the 7th gens. IT HAS CHARACTER!!

You passed inspection with tinted windows? Lucky man!

stiller fan
11-30-2007, 06:55 PM
not sure if they even noticed or not. it was at firestone.... :dunno:

it's not a heavy tint to begin with, and i am fairly certain that when/if i get the car inspected next year, that my mechanic won't have any problems having the windows "as is"....

thanks you the well wishes bud....

Window tint has nothing to do with PA state inspection.. I had 5% on my Altima.. As long as you can see anything out of them and they arent spray painted black.. Then they are fine. Its more or less just a safety inspection.

(Ive worked at an inspection station for 3 years now)
