One of the mechanics at my job just put this in his GTI and I instantly fell in love with especially because of the brand and the price. I wanted to know if anybody has installed anything like this in their 7th gen in place of the cubby. I dont want to mess with the stock H/U due to the dual climate control and the sucky metra kit I've heard nothing but horror stories about. Seems like a good deal to me and it has everything! Even plays dvd's in HD.

i have recently installed an aftermarket head unit in the cubby using this

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?o=v&g=750&i=120997862&search=honda+accord&tp=1385

although it would not fit a screen, i see no reason why you wouldnt be able to buy a flip up screen. I have heard that a 7" screen hits the knob for the volume on the stock hu, but possibly a 6.5 inch screen would work. Not sure on that just my thoughts

you should check out some of nexson's work (a member here, on g7a, as well as on v6p). He's molded quite a few screens into the location of the cubby, making it look stock, very nice

pm him for links to pic's and what not, i would link ya but im on a public computer and cant get to v6p

I've thought about the flip out but I dont want to deal with the screen coming out and hitting the shifter or anything like that. Also I havent seen any flip outs that come with Nav.

I have seen Nexson's work and it's unbelievable. But I'm not looking to do that much work if I dont have to. Timotone over on g7a said he did it as well with basically no fabrication. So i was seeing if anybody else had done it similar to that. We've been holding off because we didnt want it to become a very costly project and when I got word that you could do it with no fabbing I got excited again.

I did it with a 6.5" 2 Din screen. I used the Honda attachment kit minus the pocket. There is a harness you can buy to that the AC functions will still work but you stock radio won't function. I was able to keep my stock radio by tapping into the 12 volt source to power the new radio and used an auxiliary input. Now when I want to use the screen I put my stock radio in CDC mode.

We have done several Pioneer flip outs in 2007 Accords. The kits that we use are from Scosche. It is a very nice kit.

This is the head unit that we use.

This helped a lil, because that kit you showed I think I could just hack a bigger opening and make the double din work with that. As for that pioneer flip out, it's nice but it's like $900 more than the one I'm looking at and the one I'm looking at does all the same stuff but it's also touchscreen. Thanks for the info!
