Hi all,

I just signed up but I've been watching the forum since 9/11 the day my dealership received the first 08's and the day I bought mine.

I have a couple of silly questions I guess...

1. Windshield wipers delay. Now I could swear that on my prior cars that as you turned the delay to the thicker part of the dial labeling (you know the white swoosh that starts thin and gets wider) that the delay time got longer. My 08 is actually longer the thinner the "swoosh" is and I swear that is backwards). Anyone else noticed that?

2. Tire Pressure - It just got really cold here and my TPS light came on which I knew it could when it gets really cold. I drove about 25 miles and it stayed on the whole time so I knew there must really be a tire low. When I went to check the air, one was 26 and the other 3 were 26.5 psi. I know the standard is 32 as listed on the door jam but it's really odd that 3 tires were exactly the same and lower than 32. Anyone else noticed that? My only guess is the dealer sets them lower for a softer ride? Do you keep yours at 32psi?

My left front strut has gone defective and knocks on turns and the part is on national back order so they say.

Otherwise...I love my car. My dealer here told me I was really lucky to get my White Diamond Pearl when I did because it has been the most requested color and is hard to find right now.

Honda Insanity - The last time I was at my dealer they had 1 of the civic Muegen's and I just about passed out...their sticker was $48,000 after a $15,000 market adjustment. NUTS!!

I'm fairly certain that is the norm with the windshield wiper delay controls, at least that's the way it is with my '03 Accord. The thicker the 'swoosh', the more often the wipers operate.

it seems to be reversed on the 7th gen and later, cause in the 6th gen, the thinner the swoosh, the shorter the delay between wipes....

Just a heads up on the 08 Accords windshield wiper baldes if you are in a snow zone. My 02 a 100% failure as a winter blade. Conditions light blowing snow with temps -20 C or -4 F, Both the top and bottom ends (2 to 3 inches) had a ice build up which kept the middle portion of the blade off the windshield. And the upper and lower flex jionts on the blades were frozen ( a 2 X 4 effect). Did get them thawed out with Methye Hydrate but the freeze situation did repeat. Will be searching for better winter blades to-morrow.

PS: It's possible the OEM Blades may work as a winter blade in a more moderate temp zone. On the positive side a # 1 heater in the Accord.

ya you should get real snow blades, we used to use them in the winter for the same exact problem when we lived in tijeras NM (other side of the mountains from Albuquerque) they seemed to work great, but they are very odd, and big looking though.

if you drive in the city alot, and few highway miles, then winter blades with the rubber boots are fine....

otherwise, you are kinda stuck. the flat bladed wipers worked fairly well in all the ice last winter that we had in philly.... they were a fair performer, but still had to be slapped around a bit to clear the ice to make the assembly flexable once again.....

Use Anco premium blades if you want to keep the factory sizes, or Anco winter blades for the best performance in snow and ice if you don't mind getting a size shorter (Anco make their winter blades only in even number inches).

Only problem with their winter blades is they tend to lift once you hit above 50 MPH. They are solid and no air passages. Their premium wipers are fantastic - I drove 100 MPH once in moderate rain and they didn't lift at all.
