View Full Version : DriveAccord.net Decal
stevencrosbie 11-26-2007, 06:58 PM So...I'm bored tonight and the topic of a DriveAccord decal has popped back into my head.
http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5491&stc=1&d=1153633936
The decal would be 1x8 unless we want to have it smaller...although I can't seem to be able to order 100 decals in any other size.....
Decalkits.com is where I'm looking.
What do y'all think. The cost would be about 1 dollar each plus shipping....the idea has passed my mind several times. There would be no profit in this...just at cost plus a stamp.
namegoeshere 11-26-2007, 07:55 PM Sounds interesting. Maybe a different design though? Or letters?
honda761 11-26-2007, 08:38 PM I also want a different design. Not feeling it.
thesteve151 11-26-2007, 08:51 PM it is ok design, but it is kinda hard to read, especially if you don't know what it says already.:lmao:
i would buy one even if the design doesn't change.
BenjiBoy650 11-26-2007, 09:01 PM You guys seen this, right?

thesteve151 11-26-2007, 09:26 PM i like this one from the last thread the best:thmsup:
BenjiBoy650 11-26-2007, 09:39 PM I'd buy one too, except it would look weird on the Ody :lmao:
thesteve151 11-26-2007, 09:44 PM I'd buy one too, except it would look weird on the Ody :lmao:
i was going to put one on my moms civic:lmao:
honda761 11-26-2007, 10:03 PM Make it a royal blue and white decal. Has a sporty look to it, black and white is too serious.
namegoeshere 11-27-2007, 12:17 AM i like this one from the last thread the best:thmsup:
There ya go. Much better.
Was messing around with it and wanted to see what it would look like with the Honda logo as the O in Accord. Looks okay, I guess. Maybe a bit bigger?:dunno:
I'll see if I can whip up a different design myself just to get several more ideas out there.
stevencrosbie 11-27-2007, 04:49 AM You guys seen this, right?
http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1007
I saw that...but figured a new thread might be better than reviving an old thread from 2004 or 2006:lmao::lmao::lmao::thumbsup:
mwmcginn 11-27-2007, 05:01 AM Why not charge $5 and give whatever is leftover to Wards? This place could probably use it. I didnt want to say anything but the paint is starting to peel in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
stevencrosbie 11-27-2007, 05:25 AM I'd be fine that that. I'm sure he'd appreciate the help. I just wanna see a design that everyone likes before anything gets ordered.
Accordlover 11-27-2007, 06:45 AM I really like the sticker with the H as the O.
I'd order that one! Can we get window clings? Kinda like the I <3 My Honda ones?
anysia 11-27-2007, 07:18 AM do they have an etched glass/frosted glass sort of look that you could get the letters done in with a clear background? i think those sorts of decals look the best. the clear background makes it look like it's part of the window, not a sticker and the etched or frosted glass look letters just look classy compared to colored ones.
Conundrum 11-27-2007, 07:31 AM Not so sure I would want to put a sticker on my car, but if that could be put on a license plate bracket without looking weird, I'd definitely be in...
mwmcginn 11-27-2007, 09:33 AM Put it on the toolbox!
Accordlover 11-27-2007, 09:38 AM Not so sure I would want to put a sticker on my car, but if that could be put on a license plate bracket without looking weird, I'd definitely be in...
All my bumper stickers are on my back window. Have you thought about that?:dunno:

ditto ! my other forum 190revolution.net and a local import race shop TRUmotorsports does the same sorta 'etched glass' cut away decals
love the look and i'd do a license plate frame if one came about.
ItsaHonda 11-27-2007, 02:24 PM I'd sport a decal either on the rear or sail window. Either one of these would be great.

stiller fan 11-27-2007, 02:33 PM how much HP would this mod add to my car??? :dunno:
thesteve151 11-27-2007, 03:48 PM i'm not to sure about the H as the O, but maybe if you make the circleish square :naughty::lmao: a little thicker then it would look better:thmsup:
thesteve151 11-27-2007, 03:49 PM how much HP would this mod add to my car??? :dunno:
5hp:yes:
RTexasF 11-27-2007, 03:53 PM The poll choices kinda suck. How about "Thank you but no."
I'll buy one but it will go on the tool box or the detailing wall with other stickers in the garage. No stickers on my car at all.

I'll buy one but it will go on the tool box or the detailing wall with other stickers in the garage. No stickers on my car at all.
It was kinda a joke...I can't see who votes what anyway :)
I do these kinds of voting buttons at work using Outlook. I do this to try to skew the results and make people feel bad about their "no" selection:lmao::lmao::lmao:
I didn't say the sicker had to go on your car....I'd get a sticker...but it wouldn't go on the truck....well...it could I guess....
namegoeshere 11-27-2007, 06:41 PM So..... who are the 6 "No....I hate this forum and would never support them" people? Kinda odd that they'd be hanging out on a forum they hated. :screwy:
2POINTautO 11-29-2007, 02:05 AM This is the most eye appealing forum I have seen, the decal is way too plain to be associated with this site, sorry. I would buy a better looking one.
stevencrosbie 11-29-2007, 05:24 AM Well...the more complicated it looks....you can bet the more expensive it is. I was trying to go cheap so everyone can afford to blow some money on one....
If we can come up with a better place to order on that looks cooler...let me know as I'll front the cost.
I'd prefer one of the static cling ones but would buy either to help support the site. The static cling one I'd put on the car. I'm not sure where'd I'd put the sticker.
KunalPatel87 12-03-2007, 02:09 PM I like the first design, but would probably cut off the Honda logo for a clean look.
Keep us posted Steve. I would probably buy 2 or 3 (hopefully in silver http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v281/KunalPatel87/wish.gif).
stevencrosbie 12-03-2007, 03:54 PM From the looks of the logo...I won't order them with the "H" symbol as it would cost extra to do that.
I will keep you posted. I might order some by the end of the week. They will look simple and not "fadish" as I'm trying to keep costs down and appeal wide for the large group of people we have here.
LoveLee 12-03-2007, 08:03 PM i like this one from the last thread the best:thmsup:
i agree, i like that one the best. and i also agree that other options should be thrown out there before one is chosen. ill see if i can think of something and make one on photoshop.
samsonskeg 12-03-2007, 08:07 PM I dont want it unless it covers the whole left & right side on my car, and I want it big and different colors
BenjiBoy650 12-03-2007, 08:13 PM I dont want it unless it covers the whole left & right side on my car, and I want it big and different colors
We're only gettin em in White :D
samsonskeg 12-03-2007, 08:15 PM We're only gettin em in White :D
well thats not gonna work for me then.
stevencrosbie 12-03-2007, 08:15 PM We're only gettin em in White :D
Nice:notworthy
stevencrosbie 12-08-2007, 08:37 AM I've sent Decalkits.com an email requesting a cost estimate on this decal.
I plan to order a 100 or so. I haven't figured out a pricing scheme yet...as I will talk to the other moderators on our plan.
You can bet they are going to by white vinyl, 1x8, and cheap. I have no intentions on making a penny on these...so they will be cheap.
Let's hope we get a good cost estimate back :)
Amanda Moen 12-10-2007, 11:00 PM I want one. Awe, no gunmetal? Hmm, maybe if I get the design, I can pay and have a friend cut one for me in gunmetal/graphite.
Then again, if there seems to be a large enough people buying these, it'd kind of make sense that other colors would end up being available in the future.
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 03:35 PM I got the estimate. If you want the "H" logo in the decal, each one will cost 2 bucks plus shipping.
If we go without the decal and use a normal font, we can get them for $1 plus shipping.....
ItsaHonda 12-11-2007, 04:44 PM I'll pay the $2 + shipping.
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 04:46 PM Keep in mind...just the estimate. I haven't ordered them yet.
Amanda Moen 12-11-2007, 06:45 PM If it's the one with the H a few posts up, I'd prefer without the H. It just doesn't flow well with it, in my opinion.

If we go without the decal and use a normal font, we can get them for $1 plus shipping.....
And if we go with them as-is, but without the "H" logo, then $1.50 each plus shipping?
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 06:54 PM If it's the one with the H a few posts up, I'd prefer without the H. It just doesn't flow well with it, in my opinion.
thesteve151 12-11-2007, 06:59 PM i will buy a few
and put them on my car to promote DA:banana:
do we really need the H?
it is already on are cars anyway :lmao:
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:13 PM If we go with a standard font...they will be 1.00 plus shipping. Half the cost. I am thinking about omitting the H since I don't want to go down 200 for this idea...

standard font, that is bold, and italic would look good:yes:
DRIVEACCORD.net
maybe a different font than i used, but there is not that big of a selection on DA so that is the best i can do without going into microsoftword.
what font is the one that has the H in front?
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:18 PM http://www.decalkits.com/customdecal.php
Go there and tell me which one ya like. I want to order these tonight. Just tell me which font it is...by location :D
thesteve151 12-11-2007, 07:23 PM 3rd row 4th one from the bottom:thmsup:
the one with the line through it.
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:29 PM How about that one?
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 07:29 PM ^ I believe that'd be 3rd column, 4th up
By the way, that's the original font stevencrosbie started this thread with.
linkie (http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=5491&stc=1&d=1153633936)
thesteve151 12-11-2007, 07:31 PM ^ I believe that'd be 3rd column, 4th up
column, row you get the picture, it's the only one with a stripe through it.:lmao:
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:32 PM or this?
thesteve151 12-11-2007, 07:33 PM How about that one?
too round, it needs to be more squarish, it gives the aggressive look:naughty:
or this?
lol that was fast, and better than the first one you posted.
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:33 PM So...original or one of these simple ones.
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 07:33 PM ^ so now it's a stripe? :D
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:34 PM I'm just tryin' to get what the people want...if we want the stripe....i'll go for it. Believe me...these will be so cheap...you can afford to like it :D
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 07:36 PM How about that one?
Too oriental looking..... http://www.acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rice.gif
:lmao:

lol ya.
i like the one with the stripe/line through it best so far.
it is kinda harder to read, but it is still cheap, and looks a little less simple:thmsup:
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:39 PM Too oriental looking..... http://www.acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rice.gif
:lmao:
Hahahahaha
I like my simple one...but lookin' like the stripe wins!
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 07:40 PM Let's not rush into this. Maybe we can put up a thread with poll listing 2 or 3 designs and have people vote on them. Whichever has the most votes get's printed.
Personally, I like the original one minus the "H" logo. I don't mind paying $2 or whatever it'll be.
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:41 PM Got it. Will make a thread w/ 3 choices.
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:49 PM VOTE
http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=14309
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 07:50 PM The font on the 3rd column, 10th down isn't bad either.
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 07:54 PM Will add that one...but that's the last one. :D
ItsaHonda 12-11-2007, 08:04 PM So we can't do this font minus the Honda logo? I prefer this font the best. I'm not sure I'd buy any of the ones shown in the current poll.
http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b5/ItsaHonda/decal1.jpg
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 08:07 PM That font is not available through the custom decal maker.
My main reason for not going with that decal is the 200 bucks out of pocket to get it made....
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 08:13 PM How much out of pocket is it gonna cost for using one of their fonts then? And is there a minimum # of stickers per order?

http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b5/ItsaHonda/decal1.jpg
ya that one is the best, but for twice the price it's just not worth it.
thesteve151 12-11-2007, 08:15 PM How much out of pocket is it gonna cost for using one of their fonts then? And is there a minimum # of stickers per order?
i think $100
stevencrosbie 12-11-2007, 08:15 PM How much out of pocket is it gonna cost for using one of their fonts then? And is there a minimum # of stickers per order?
100 bucks. I don't mind throwing 100 bucks at it...but 200....nah
ItsaHonda 12-11-2007, 08:16 PM My main reason for not going with that decal is the 200 bucks out of pocket to get it made>>>
Gotcha. Well, in that case, I'll go ahead and vote for option four.
namegoeshere 12-11-2007, 08:19 PM option #4 looks the closest to that $200 one too.
ItsaHonda 12-11-2007, 08:23 PM option #4 looks the closest to that $200 one too>>>
I was thinking the same thing.
