Just had a new garage door and opener installed yesterday. Opener is a Liftmaster. Did the initial "clear codes" thing on the Homelink. Then went to re-program with the new remote. Didn't work, but found that (from the HL blinking codes) that it is the "rolling code" type. So, went and pulled the car into the garage, and did the "learn" thing on both the GDO and the GDO wall mount control, where you have 30 seconds to push them (yes, did procedure 2X, once each way), hop in the car and push the HL button, to "learn" it. Didn't work. Any help?

There should be a learn button on the motor unit you need to press. See point 5 on this:

5. At the garage door opener receiver (motorhead unit) in the garage, locate the “learn” or “smart” button (usually near where the hanging antenna wire is attached to the unit). If there is difficulty locating the training button, reference the garage door opener’s manual or contact us.

benjamming: already did that. It's the same instructions that came with the opener manual.
flippco: as I said in the thread, I already did that, from both the wall mounted controller, and the pushbutton on the opener itself.
I know the Homelink works as I programmed it with the old opener's remote originally. I guess I'll try Liftmaster's 1-800 #.

The wall mount control may not be close enough to the Accord to work.
Training HL
1. You should have a remote that can be placed 2-5 inches from the HL panel in the car. Press & hold both the remote control button and the button on the HL transmitter you are trying to train.
2. The red light in HomeLink should begin flashing. It will flash slowly at first, then rapidly.
3. When the red light flashes rapidly, release both buttons.
For Rolling Codes continue on:
A. Press the Training button on the garage door opener unit until the light next to the button comes on, then release it. The light may blink, or come on and stay on. You then have approximately 30 seconds to complete the following steps.
B. Press and hold the button on HomeLink for 3-4 seconds.
C. Press and hold the HL (The same button you trained with the ‘‘Training
HL" procedure.)
D. Press and hold the HL button again for 3-4 seconds. This should turn off the training light on the garage door opener unit. (Some systems may require you to press the button up to three times.)
E. Press the HomeLink button again. It should operate the garage door.

Yeah, I followed that right out of the Honda's manual (more than once in fact). The first time I tried it, the car was just outside the garage on the driveway. Once that didn't work, I reset the HL codes again, pulled the car into the garage, and retried the "learn" thing again from both the wall mount control pad, and from pushing the "learn" button on the opener itself. The wall mount would have been no farther than 8 feet from it to the HL button pad in the car. The opener itself would have been 3-4 feet max at the time.
The learn feature must work as the remotes both got programmed by the control unit (granted, they were held right up to it at the time). I'll try a bunch of iterations to try it again tonight, but it's darn cold out there fiddling with it.

I have a GDO to program (had to replace circuit board - DOA) so I'll try programming tonight.

I have a "rolling code" opener and had to do the following.
With a helper, press and hold the homelink while I pressed the opener learn button.
You may have done this already.
