View Full Version : Acura rims on a Honda?
SmokedV6 12-03-2007, 03:37 AM Whatcha think about these rims on a new Accord Sedan V6? It's all good cuz its still in the Honda family!!
Maybe I can debadge the Honda symbol from the back and put an Acura symbol too! and get a new grill :)
Haha i wonder if people would trip out...
honda761 12-03-2007, 04:36 AM They would look excellent on your car. Just dont chrome them. Something about chrome and Accords wheels dont mix.
SmokedV6 12-03-2007, 04:43 AM what about something like these?
honda761 12-03-2007, 04:52 AM IMO, almost any aftermarket wheels will look better than the stock ones Honda offers for there 08 Accord models, and that is whether its DX, LX, EX-L. Honda has no clue what is good looking for stock rims! I think you should get get the 5 spoke TL rims with no chrome and those excessive button holes. Make it simple and sporty.
SmokedV6 12-03-2007, 04:57 AM Yeah, true. Chrome is kinda... too trendy for me. Maybe if I drove an Escalade, I'd get chrome. And those buttons around the edges are freakin ugly. I do like the 5-dual spoke rims, though, with the spacing between the edge and where the rim (i forgot what it's called). But those are too expensive, anyway haha
honda761 12-03-2007, 05:02 AM I think these would look decent on your car. Some people dont like 5 spoke because they are too simple but I've have always thought they could match any car and body style easy.
Ignition_key 12-03-2007, 06:11 AM I would go with something that is 7 spokes or more....
MotorCity Honda 12-03-2007, 06:29 AM The 1st two you posted are from ebay right?? I think the sellers nake is OEM wheels or something right??
If so they suck, or so I have been told by those I trust.
regardless of what acura rims you get PLEASE change the center caps to the "H"!
I like these wheels from tirerack.com:

By the way, are the OEM 2008 Accord wheels 17x7 or 17x8?
namegoeshere 12-03-2007, 05:08 PM The first (chrome) wheel is the 2nd Gen. Acura TL-S / 7th Gen Accord V6 6MT wheel.
I believe a guy on my street has the Kazera KZ-U (http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=KZU050S&wheelMake=Kazera&wheelModel=KZ-U&wheelFinish=Silver+Painted&showRear=no&autoMake=Honda&autoModel=Accord+Sedan&autoYear=2008&autoModClar=EX-L+V6&filterSize=17&filterFinish=Painted&filterSpecial=false&filterBrand=All&filterNew=All&sort=Price) wheels on his lowered Acura RSX. Well, at least it looks like them. They definitely look better in person. But I'm not too sure how they'd look on an 8th Gen. Accord though.
EDIT.....
I've been drooling over these lately. Volk GT-V. But they're hella expensive.... something like $600 each. Besides, I don't want to have to worry about finding my car on cinder blocks.

I dont think its the rims that look a bit weak, rather, I think its the size, offset, and overall vehicle stance that makes them seem somewhat ordinary. If you look at the 08 EX V6 wheels and compare to prior years....the rim design itself is probably the nicest Honda has used on the Accord. Just my .02 cents.
chanke4252 12-03-2007, 06:41 PM I do not like any of the 8th gen wheels. All of them have too many spokes. I'm a 5-spoke guy. I can tolerate more spokes, but the fact that the only options they have are wheels with like 49 spokes each is depressing and boring. The first pic in the thread looks like the 06-07 6mt accord wheels. They look very similar to the older TL-S wheels (last gen TL I think). I like them on 7th gen accords, though I'm not sure how they would look on an 8th gen. I think any of the newer TL wheels would look good on the new accord. They have some similarities on the sides of the car. Who knows though. Time to call out the photoshoppers I guess.
samsonskeg 12-03-2007, 06:46 PM Id so go for BMW rims, they are the best. True story

For the most part, the Germans know how to pick the right wheel design, size, and offset to match the stance of the car. Why has it taken so long for the rest of the world to catch on? Most cars come with fairly weak stock wheels.

I agree to some extent about too many spokes, however, an open design looks a bit off character for a sedan. Maybe a sporty coupe would look good with an aggressive open wheel.
As for the Accord, if it were lowered an inch and had the offset changed by 10MM, it would look like a tighter package. Just my opinion.

The V6 are 18x8
The V6 are 18x8
I think that's for the V6 coupe.. how about the 4 door V6? I know they are only 17", but I don't know if it's 17x7 or 17x8. I'd rather stick with whichever it is from the factory.

Well, according to edmunds they are 17x7.5
