Talk to me here or at Ballardbeau@hotmail.com Best, Dave Why? + :worthless Ballardbeau 12-04-2007, 06:49 PM I'm hesitant to say why as I don't need a lot of grief or flaming, but...and I speak only for myself...it's too soft and too mainstream. My history of car ownership includes a Corvette, a SRT-4, a BMW M3, a MazdaSpeed6 and a Pontiac GTO. This car is simply too "polite" for my tastes. I'm looking for something faster and edgier. I knew I had bought the wrong car when I asked here what mods would make it go faster and a poster could not understand how anyone owning a car that would go to 60mph in 5.9 seconds could possiby want more power! I suspect my next car will be the G8 from Pontiac/Holden in Australia when it's released. That being said, it's a great car. Just not for me. stevencrosbie 12-04-2007, 06:52 PM I can't wait to see some numbers from the G8! Speed3s rock! Ballardbeau 12-04-2007, 06:59 PM I can't wait to see some numbers from the G8! Speed3s rock! LOL. They do. That's another option. If you look at my other cars...Pontiac GTO (29K), MazdaSpeed 6 (25K after rebate) and SRT-4 (18K!!) the Speed3 fits right into my style--the fastest cars for the least money! StudmasterSteve 12-04-2007, 07:02 PM Its unfortuate that this car does not suit your tastes however I hope you find what you are looking for and make sure you give that car to a good owner :) Ballardbeau 12-04-2007, 07:02 PM Thanks, Stud. Will do. LoveLee 12-04-2007, 07:11 PM i understand where you are coming from. i LOVE my accord, and its a great daily driver cuz i drive 40 miles to school and back everyday. but sometimes i wish i had something with a little more horsepower. buy a mustang  zro26t 12-05-2007, 04:11 AM i understand where you are coming from. i LOVE my accord, and its a great daily driver cuz i drive 40 miles to school and back everyday. but sometimes i wish i had something with a little more horsepower. buy a mustang  Likewise... that's why I decided to mod my old '86 Chevy Silverado. I love my AV6, but sometimes I can't resist 300+ RWHP put to the ground... and looking to the right at some kid with a riced-out Civic revv'n high trying to keep up. NOT THAT I STREET RACE OR ANYTHING. :D Though I'd wouldn't really call burning rice a race. :lmao: GigaS27 12-05-2007, 04:32 AM Why have you moved from a vet and a M3 to a honda? I'm sorry but between these cars honda is no comparable. Trip 12-05-2007, 04:44 AM In the brief time with my 08 V6 6sp I can understand where Ballardbeau is coming from. FWD and no LSD with this much power is a handful to really extract maximum performance. The dynamics aren't quite right for serious hardcore speed. I've driven RWD cars with as much and more power that were much easier to drive faster. I've also driven FWD with less power (Preludes) who's handling was exemplary even for FWD. At one point C&D name the Prelude best handling car under $30K, hands down. With that said, I still love the V6 Coupe. But, my priorities for this car are different and the extra power is just a bonus for me. Drive on! :dude: Edaccord08 12-05-2007, 05:07 AM In the brief time with my 08 V6 6sp I can understand where Ballardbeau is coming from. That would be real fun car to drive and great rally platform but I guess that be Acura territory You would get more balance handling performance due to better weight distribution and relatively light weight of L4 and still be able to produce something in the range of 250+ hp/230-250 torque with not much trouble. plus gas mileage would not suffer much as long as you stay off boost :D stevencrosbie 12-05-2007, 05:28 AM Hahahaha...stay off boost.....hahahaha You're crazy....a turbo is there for one reason :) Speeding tickets! Edaccord08 12-05-2007, 05:36 AM Hahahaha...stay off boost.....hahahaha You're crazy....a turbo is there for one reason :) Speeding tickets! I guess you are right in that way :) I am probably a bit biased on turbos as every car i have owned had one, one way or the other :D This accord is my first NA car in 30 yrs. honda761 12-05-2007, 05:46 AM You not going to lose that much since the car is in demand. Accordio 12-05-2007, 07:18 AM I can't wait to see some numbers from the G8! Speed3s rock! X2. especially if they do the GXP version. psyshack 12-05-2007, 09:17 AM Ive never really understood hot rod front wheel drive cars. As much as I like the 7th gen v6's and TL. FWD kind of kills the whole deal. Thats why Ive bought 4 bangers. Well that and the mpg. :) LoveLee 12-05-2007, 09:55 AM Likewise... that's why I decided to mod my old '86 Chevy Silverado. NISMO parts can make those things something even Wu-Tang clan wouldn't F with on the street RWD on my baby benz, i couldn't part with it, it's such a contrast to jump back into it. I'm looking forward to bumping up from 183hp to around 280-290 with this m104 c36 engine i'm about to transplant in the spring, mated to a 5spd getrag tranny... gotta love a wolf in sheep's clothing digitalh3lix 12-05-2007, 02:52 PM if you want speed, go with a motorcycle. KunalPatel87 12-05-2007, 04:05 PM Was it the appearance or value or both that made you buy the car from the beginning? I can see why it's just too "polite" for you in the performance department. Probably all of the same attributes that lead others to buy this car. Unique/great looks, performance, Honda quality/reliability, decent gas milage, fair price, and rarity. I do like this car a lot and would recommend it to anyone. Ignition_key 12-06-2007, 06:12 AM Probably all of the same attributes that lead others to buy this car. Just SLAP on a Super Charger and you will get around 350HP :) Dont forget to upgrade your tires and possbily add LSD (perhaps off an Acura) :lmao: honda761 12-06-2007, 06:30 AM I also live in Seattle, dont know where you find so many open roads to let it rip like you are in Nascar. The traffic here is often maddening, so the 08 AV6 MT should be plenty fast 99% of the time. waldo 12-06-2007, 07:54 AM I also live in Seattle, dont know where you find so many open roads to let it rip like you are in Nascar. 'Nuf said. :D dgs 12-06-2007, 08:57 AM You not going to lose that much since the car is in demand. I don't know about that. Used is used, regardless of the number of miles. In-demand or not, there is no way he will get near the asking price of a new one that has never been titled. Although there are plenty of suckers out there, so who knows, maybe he'll make out like a bandit. I'm wondering if the OP test drove the car before buying it, as I imagine the test drive would have revealed the deficiency he sees in the car.
