Hello All

This evening my hubby and I were coming home from work. Out of the blue his horn just started blaring for no reason. If you turn off the lights it goes off, but if you turn them back on (low or high) it starts blaring. We got pulled over by the cops who were wondering what was going on. We checked the fuses and none are blown. It is cold here (about 35 degrees in day 26 at night). He is planning on taking to the dealer tomorrow but I bet it won't happen for them. It did it yesterday for a minute but stopped. Tonight it was for at least 30 minutes (whole ride home). We won't even talk about the stares we got riding home with folks looking like what is wrong with their ride :lmao:?

Another issue he has had is sometimes his turn signals get 'stuck' on. Meaning if you click them on to use, they don't click off after you make the turn. Usually it's the right turn signal. Inside the car it stays on, outside it keeps blinking. Sometimes they both stay on, but usually the left one will go off. He has taken it to the dealer for this issue but they can never find anything. This tends to happen when it is cold but not often.

Have the forum guru's ever heard of such happening? Is this something that will require a diagnostic check? We are clueless as to why this is going on but any ideas that you might have to share would be appreciated

Someone was recently complaining that when they honked their horn on their 98 that it would blow a fuse for the brake lights, keeping them from going into drive. Sounds like the fuse for the horn may just be lumped in with some lighting related functions on the 6th gens. Though, I'm not much of an electrical guy myself, sorry.

Ha that happened to me and my 00 Acc. I had to use the shift lock to get the car out of park and if I put in a fuse and pressed on the brake the lights would work but I would blow the fuse. Turns out I needed a new horn!

Nothing shuts off on his 96. But it makes for an interesting ride to turn on the lights and the horn just blares. Not even nice enough to honk like it does from the car alarm. The upside is folks moved out of our way

if you have an alarm on the car, get that checked. when i first had my alarm installed, im not sure what they did. but a few weeks later my horn started going off when the wind blew and my lights were flashing. and none of the fuses were blown, my dad who is a mechanic couldnt figure it out so i took the fuse for the horn out untill i could take it to be fixed.

derrr, also, just noticed that she said 96 accord. I saw the picture and it was a 6th gen, maybe I should learn to read.
