I had these tires put on this week. They received good reviews with the only negative thing being the weight of the tire. (25 lbs). I'm getting a slight vibration in the steering wheel between 70-80 mph. They rebalanced them yesterday but I'm still getting the vibration. Any ideas? I'm going back tomorrow and might exchange them.

Maybe a rebalance is in order? They don't always hit it on the nose in spite of the high dollar equipment. I've had them match the heavy side of the tire to the heavy side of the wheel instead of putting them opposite to counterbalance each other prior to the weights being added.

Maybe you need a shop that has one of these.

They have a search feature on their site so you can locate one. I live near Detroit and did a search and it was quite impressive that all the high end auto establishments (race shops, Chrysler, Ford ,GM, proving grounds, etc) had them.

Lug nugs were waaayyy over torqued. They had the tires inflated at 30 psi front and back. Bumped that up to 35 lbs for all four tires.
Wet traction was tested today in the rain and was excellent. Best wet traction tire I've ever had. They are a heavy tire, @ 25lbs, but it's not that noticeable, so far. One of the Michelin tires i passed on were 24 lbs.
I had my fiance feel the steering wheel and she didn't feel anything. Said it ever so slightly vibrates but it's not a shacking type feel. It could be just from the aggressive tread of this tire.

So re-torquing the wheels made it right with no further balancing???????????????
I realize it's early in the game but how do they ride/feel compared to the Michs?

25 lbs. vs the stock Michelins at ~21 lbs. isn't that big of a difference. It's like having a full size spare in the trunk as far as added weight goes. It shouldn't impact handling or MPGs at all.

good luck with those tires. i loved them on my last car (pontiac grand prix gtp)

I second the roadforce. I had mine balanced and it drives perfectly. Turned out that the first shop that did it, used too much mounting fluid, which made it hard to balance them... once the roadforce rejected the two tires we unmounted and found a LOT of fluid in them.
Shop around for the roadforce, I ended up paying $40, some places wanted $80!!

Well I have read on other boards where those GY tires are very hard to balance. There were several posts with issues similar to yours.

Fluid in the tires? I am totally lost here.

They use a slimy mixture on the bead of the tire to ensure that the mounting goes smoothly and nothing binds/rips. Should be just enough to wet the bead though.
Goodyear has been notorious in the past with tire balance issues. I've heard this from dealers in the NKY/Cincinnati market as well as in the Baton Rouge market. However they've evidentially made some strides in limiting this issue in the past few years.
