Looking over the engine the other day (48,000 miles) and i notice on the side of the belt it's beginning to fray in one place. Any of you done the belt replacement yet is so, how many miles did you and how much $$
Thanks

I haven't replaced my belts yet, obviously, however, you should relace them ASAP since you are seeing fraying.
I need to replace. It is a simple auto-tensioner setup, and I can't imagine it is difficult. I would reccomend replacing the auto- tensioner as well. My belt hasn't started to fray, but is leaving a rust-looking nasty residue on my valve cover.

Carefully look at that spot, it may not be a fray, but the point where the belt backside is jointed, it looks almost sewn together.
The belt is fairly easy to change, no need to change the auto tensioner unless it doesn't move or the belt squeals loudly (like its loose)
I've not needed to change them, until around 100k or so, usually wait till the 110k service.
The rust is normal, they all throw the rust from water splash on the pulley causing the metal to rust and the belt carries it around.
