i have an 01 accord 5MT that the clutch makes a clicking noise intermittently. I got down in there to check where the noise is coming from and i think it is coming from the input shaft to the master cylinder. there feels like there is a little play in the shaft inside of the rubber seal/grommet. I haven't tried to adjust it yet and see if that helps. If anyone has has this problem before please let me know how you fixed this. I really don't want to have to replace the master cylinder but this click is so very annoying . Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you sure you are not hearing the switch that disengages the cruise control when you depress on the clutch? This would happen every time at the top of the travel just as you depress the clutch

This happens on my car and it used to bother me when I first got the car 4 months ago but I have gotten over it for the most part.

yea i don't really want to get over it... i want to depress the clutch without a loud click almost every time i do... the click does happen close to the beginning of the pedal stroke. i guess i'll take off the cruise switch and see if that is it.

I'm interested to see if the cruise control on my 86 LX 5MT does this, will check it out...

I will bet that you guys will find the cruise control gets disengaged at the very slight depression of the clutch pedal.

My 96' and 90' Integra both had silent cruise cancelling switch at the top of the clutch travel, I don't understand why the Accord has such an audible switch, there's a million silent action momentary switch out there, why the heck did American Honda pick a clicking switch?

There is no functioning reason why this switch needs to click..........., especially when neither the clutch safety interlock switch at the bottom of the clutch travel nor the brake switch click!

My 98, 03, and 06 had squeaky/creaky clutch pedals that were due to the master cylinder. Lubricating did not work. In each case the cylinder had to be replaced. At vtec.net a number of others have posted about noisy clutch pedals. Try taking a look over there, also.

My 08 is making a sound, too, which is a clicking noise and it is the switch at the top of the clutch pedal. I taped it up to confirm and the clicking stopped. The starter interlock and crusie control were not affected so I'm not sure what its for but I did just start a thread it.
