View Full Version : DRL Question
yur686 01-02-2008, 10:24 AM I was wondering if there was a way to wire my DRL so that they stay on when i turn on my regular low bean lights. I have a hyperyellow highbeam light and it looks really good when its turned on with my 12k HID. I figured there was so many people that hate the DRL and want to eliminate it completely, that there had to be people that wanna keep it on longer. Thanx:)
Aviography 01-02-2008, 10:41 AM There's likely a wire in the DRL system that senses the voltage has been applied to the main headlight to turn off DRL, you can disable this by cutting the wire then your DRL will then never be affected by the main headlight.
12K HID? Holy Jesus do you get any illumination on the road at all? Long wavelength may look neat but it is poor in illumination distance, as well the higher the color temperature out of the HID, the lower the illumination intensity, so you loose on both fronts.
Maybe the DRL in conjunction with the 12K HID will actually help you see better at night! :)
illzkats 01-02-2008, 10:48 AM what if i connect the DRL fuse with the regular light fuse by a wire.
will this work, or just mess everything up?

Nothing will be any different, the DRL circuitry is always "live", the fuse just prevents overdrawing of current when the DRL comes on, so hooking up another 12VDC from the main headlight to the DRL controller is going to have no effect how the DRL operates.
IGotASlowCivic 01-02-2008, 11:08 AM we have DRL's on our 7 gens?!?!?!?!?
Aviography 01-02-2008, 11:33 AM In Canada we do.
DRLs were added to the US spec Accords in 2006 and 2007.

I even had DRL on my 91 Civic!
GigaS27 01-02-2008, 12:19 PM Since DRL is high beam, even at low voltage, still might look alil bright to on-coming traffic on very dark streets.
yur686 01-03-2008, 12:00 PM They actually dont do much as far as providing light towards traffic or streets, merely a consmetic look.

I do on my '07.
illgianee 01-05-2008, 01:55 PM does anyone know how to access the drl ? where it is?
my drl light stays on and last time dealer looked at it for me out of courtesy - this time they want to charge labour.... anyone know? reason being is they said it was a weak/loose connection - rather do it myself than purchase a new module
yur686 01-07-2008, 06:39 AM What is wrong with your DRL?
illgianee 01-07-2008, 07:52 AM the DRL light stays on - so my drl's aren't working which in return makes my high beams not work properly.
The light would sometimes go away in the past thats when i took it into honda and said the connection was weak and that the module wasn't blown - but while after the light started stayin on permanently and i haven't bothered to take it back. Its one of those things i dont care if it works or not so im not paying for it - but if i can access it myself and do it - than i would.
princess 01-08-2008, 12:59 PM Here's some of the wiring.... I'm sure you'll need me to add a page or diagram.... so ask for whatever you might need as you figure it out.:D
princess 01-09-2008, 09:04 AM It's not just one piece....
maybe it's the wiring to the relay?????
shigeo 04-17-2008, 02:34 PM anyone know, in a 06 honda accord how much voltage is supplied to the lights when the DRL's are on?
thanks in advance
