I have a 2005 accord, the CEL came on during the holidays, today it seems as though the engine has siezed. The CEL light was on before, and I had it checked at the dealer, they cleared it and said it was nothing. How long does it keep these codes in its memory, I want to know what the previous code was.

What were the running conditions prior? Seized as in locked up?

Did the code reappear after the dealer reset the light? Do you have any paperwork on what the code was from the dealer? Have you called the dealer to see if they have the service visit recorded in their computer database for the code?

I believed the mechanic who checked your car should have a bright idea what the code was. For the 7th gen, he must have used the scanner/code reader to find out what it was. Ask the dealer what this is about or is it still under warranty.
