Who does everyone think will be the next prez? Bush or Kerry?

I can't wait till this is all over and done with, I am getting really sick of all this political crap on tv. It seems that every commercial is a political one. Its pathetic:bawling:

Today as I voted I went with getting all our locals out..... if they've had a turn at messin' up our community, let someone else try! They can't do any worse! Our little 5 mile stretch of hwy takes nearly 30 minutes to drive! POOR PLANNING!!

They let a bizillion houses get built, they made a whole new "town" & didn't do a single thing to widen the roads!

I'm anxious for the ads to be done too. They're such a waste anyway. I doubt if many vote how they do 'cuz of an ad. AND the junk mail! For the last month our mail carrier has been dropping of tons of mail....90% political ads!

I'm not turning on the TV until the polls close here out of protest! I don't think they should release the numbers until the last one closes. They could have the various time zone's results on local news instead of national....

I do agree on the 4 more years......:)

I'm at a loss who to hope for in the superbowl..... my team seems to have forgotten how to play football!:sorry:

as least you hi-jacked ur own thread tho... :D

stillerfanswife: it was my fault, cause when i mentioned the whole preg issue, everything else just fell into place..........the threads in this forum are to talk about certain issues...however, thread hi-jacking does happen sometimes, and they (moderators), will politely ask you to stay on topic, or get back on topic. umm, if you want to start a new thread about random rumblings, then please be my guest...it'll help me get closer and closer to princess' post count....

Kerry reportedly concedes election

Senator said to call Bush, ending his quest for presidency

WASHINGTON (AP) -- After a long, tense night of vote counting, Sen. John Kerry called President Bush this morning to concede Ohio and the presidency, according to The Associated Press learned.
Kerry ended his quest, concluding one of the most expensive and bitterly contested races on record, with a call to the president shortly after 11 a.m., according to two officials familiar with the conversation.
"Congratulations, Mr. President," Kerry said in the conversation described by sources as lasting less than five minutes. One of the sources was Republican, the other a Democrat.
The Democratic source said Bush called Kerry a worthy, tough and honorable opponent. Kerry told Bush the country was too divided, the source said, and Bush agreed. "We really have to do something about it," Kerry said according to the Democratic official.
Kerry placed his call after weighing unattractive options overnight. With Bush holding fast to a six-figure lead in make-or-break Ohio, Kerry could give up or trigger a struggle that would have stirred memories of the bitter recount in Florida that propelled Bush to the White House in 2000.

greg: i see you are from michigan, do you live any where near mackinaw city? i love that place!!:D :D i was there a couple years ago and had such a good time going to all the shops!!! i also went mini golfing and to the movies too. i also saw that they have a live theatre which i am into.

i can't get those movies to work on jibjab.com, my computer stinks!!!:bawling: :bawling:

Greg
11-04-2004, 05:09 PM
No, I live straight south of Mackinaw city, if I know where you are talking about. I live just south of Kalamazoo....in the boondocks. I've lived here for about 18 months and still need to get up there to Mackinaw Island. But snow is coming, so it will probably be next spring/summer.

Yeah, I forgot to say that those jibjab movies aren't 56K friendly. They have to open in their own window, and I think that each is about 4MB, so if you are on dial up it would take a while.

stillerfanswife
11-05-2004, 04:19 AM
cool, my cousins just moved to kalamazoo last year. i have seen the boonies in michigan myself, the place i was at had a lot of dirt roads and big huge beautiful trees.

you will love mackinaw, they got some great places to eat up there as well!!!:D

i really need to get broadband so people won't complain that i am tieing up the phone lines. that way i can go back and look at the presidential movies on jibjab.com. even thought the election is miles away now. phew thank God!!!

Greg
11-05-2004, 06:00 PM
I drove through Mackinaw when I moved here, but didnt end up stopping. I drove up through Wisconsin, across the UP (upper penninsula) and then south through Michigan. The Mackinaw bridge is trippy...I wouldn't want to drive across that thing on the motorcycle. The roadway is see-through grate style something like 1000 feet down to Lake Michigan. Not to mention those grates make you weave all over the place. Traverse City is also a nice place to visit - been meaning to get back there one of these days.

EDIT: I1 - it is about time for you to post that turnoff sign again.
