Buzzing sound from CD area [Archive] - Drive Accord Honda Forums

2007-Accord-EX-L-AT-V6 ( with factory CD player )

Anyone noticed a slight buzzing sound from around the CD player ?

Mainly noticable when cabin is quiet.

I had that...I took it into the dealership, and they said they wrapped a bunch of 3M foam tape around the CD player unit...because there are wires and stuff around the back of it that are close to the unit casing, and they vibrate against each other over rough roads...seem to have worked...they did it over a year ago

actually, its not a sound resulting from the ride(i.e. pavement). Actually, I hear it most when the car is still and cabin quiet.

I need to do a painful retraction on this issue. I am almost certain this 'buzzing' noise was due to some clutter that was vibrating inside the storage compartment located under the CD/Radio. :nuts:

you're lucky :banana: last time i had crackling from the head unit area i had to pull out the radio to fix it, trust me it was more painful than a retraction :lmao:

My car is older but I also noticed an annoying buzz from the CD area. After some fiddling I found this:

Open the lid to the storage compartment, buzzing stops. Close the lid, it starts again (periodically). So now I just keep it open, problem solved. Glad your buzz was simple to fix, if it comes back make sure it isn't the storage door.
