I know I saw a thead or two where somebody has done this. Is the mid-muffler straight through or not? Any difference from the drivers seat? I know it would be minimal performance wise, but I'd like a little noise.
If the mid-muffler is not deemed to be highly restrictive, maybe changing out the rear muffler would be better.
The stock exhaust appears to be 2'" throughout. Can anybody confirm this? :dunno:

Sup Marc. The stock exhaust is roughly 1.75". IMO it is too small for these engines. I upgraded mine from the cat back to 2.25". I've got an aftermarket no name muffler on it now, but will be replacing it w/ an OEM 06 Si muffler.
Before all that, I had a 2.25" "mid-pipe" you could call it. It was from the cat back, but stopped right before it made the upward turn to head for the muffler. I noticed absolutely no change in sound w/ that done.

Thanks for the reply Beau. I guess I'll wait until I can justify a complete cat-back.
I got a wing coming and tints are soon, but I wanna do the 17mm rear bar before a new exhaust system potentionally gets in the way.
I gotta get away from this board before I end up in the poor house! :paranoid:

Too late, you've already been victimized.:) You are getting an OEM wing or similar, right?

Were you happy with the increase in power or was it not very noticeable? Just wondering if it's worth the change or not.

Yeah Beau, I'm getting a new OEM pre-painted wing (w/led brake lights) from a reputable ebayer for $199. I was really liking the spoiler but I read that a batch had fitment issues and getting that red light out of my back window is a plus. It kinda glares up on the glass. I didn't want to tint around it and I didn't want to potentionally get hassled about obstructing it either.
I'm looking forward to the new Si muffler update. What did you have to give for it? I'm considering a 2 1/4" glasspack/super turbo combination with a turndown. I'm hesitant to cut on the bumper.

I paid 100 bucks shipping included. Its the axle back portion w/ only 6k on it.
Matter of fact, my muffler now is a super turbo 2 baffle design w/ a 12" resonator, and its still bothers me. Its quiet @ idle... and thats it. Cruising @ 70 is alright but it has a drone to it. The stock muffler is a 3 baffle design and I'm hoping the Si one is quieter than what I have now. The Si is the same muffler they use on the S2000's.
