Hey, I sold my gas eater truck... Now I cant haul anything, and truck rentals are just too high for hauling 2 sheets of plywood or some cabinets. So I bought a drawtight hitch for the accord (aka "the powerhouse") and wanted to see who else had a hitch and if you had any issues with the install, or operation.

I am sure never going to have much of a load on it, but still want to be sure its all cool.

Just fyi, the hitch was 125 and the wiring was about $30 in belleville, il.

I know accordio got lots of positive feedback about his setup, but I am not looking to haul any ATVs or Large Gorillas

I might put one on mine to use when hauling the bike around, but I don't think I'll worry about anything else. I still have my Blazer for anything larger, or I can utilize a corporate account with Penske to rent a truck dirt cheap.

I did tow a 18' tandem landscape trailer (had a bulky equipment rack on the front of it) once through the "rich neighborhood" with my Volvo. Darn thing stuck out about 1.5 to 2 feet on each side of the car. That turned a lot of heads, from both the country-club cronies and the construction workers. It was funny looking, wish I would have got some photos of it.

I installed one on my 03 V6 Sedan and only had a couple of problems. The hardest part was that you had to drill a hole in the heat shied that is above the mufflers and make sure they were aligned perfectly. The hitch used two pre-existing holes in the sub frame (One on each side) and the shields covered them. You had to measure out where the holes would be on the shields and drill them out. Only other problem I had was with the third bolt that utilizes the tie down hook on the back by the bumper. The bolt was a little short and I ended up breaking it trying to get it started. I just got another one that was longer from my step-dad who had several different sizes in his shop and used it. Other than that, it was fairly easy to install and works great. I installed the hitch because I needed a trailer to pull our three newly aquired recumbent tricycles. The trailer is 5x8 with a fold down ramp. The V6 pulls it without problems.

I have the Draw-tight hitch. No real problems installing it as long as you follow the instructions. I haven't had to use it yet as I also have a truck. I just added it to the Accord for when I need to pull my 4'x6' UT on trips where I don't want/need to drive the truck (Truck get 6 mpg city & 14 mpg hwy, but it will turn the earth on it's axis if I can just find a place to hook it up to! :naughty: ).
