Hey all. I have 2 Maxtor hard drives for sale or trade. They are both new in box, still shrinkwrapped. I bought them with store cash cards at an office superstore and don't need 'em. I'm asking $90 for the 120GB or $110 for the 160GB, including shipping to continental US addresses. I will also consider trades for new Pioneer/Alpine/similar quality car stereo, new component speaker sets, or new amps. Please let me know!

I've seen Maxtor HD's for under 50 cents a gig. I just bought a 200GB Hitachi HD for $60. Wanna consider tweaking those prices a bit?

Can't say I shopped around for the lowest price, but the prices I'm asking are $30 less than what I paid once you figure shipping.
I did some checking on ebay for completed auctions and here are a few links. I'm willing to drop to $90 for the 120GB shipped and $110 for the 160GB shipped:

These are completed auctions so they're going prices.
Besides, a Hitachi is not a Maxtor :) You're driving a Honda and not a Hyundai for a reason :D
Thanks for the input, and I'll adjust my prices. Are you making an offer or just an observation?
Plus Tom's drives are 7200 RPM, which are better than 4200/5400 drives. Not sure about the prices, just something else to consider.

Just making an observation. And my drive is a 7200RPM as well. And if you check around, all the major brands (WD, Seagate, Maxtor) get as low as 33 cents a gig.

Such a big deal about nothing. I feel these are fair prices for brand new in box drives, including shipping. They're right about in the middle so if anyone wants 'em and doesn't want to screw around with paying extra for this and that, odd companies where you don't necessarily know you'll get a retail boxed, brand new drive, this is the deal for you. You probably can get them cheaper, but you can also get them for more.
Besides that, I'm selling them to raise money to buy the stuff listed in the original ad (stereo/speakers/amp, etc.) so I'd really much rather trade for like-valued gear and save the hassle.
Anyway, sorry if anyone thinks the prices are overinflated. I don't. Feel free to check around! If you don't want to buy mine, don't. I won't take it personally.

I have posted the two hard drives on ebay (links below) if anyone is interested. I started the bidding at $.01 so they will only sell for what they're worth, no gimmicks, inflated pricing, or tricks as so implied.
