We've never tried the LG appliances, but had all kinds of problems with LG phones... We stick to GE for appliances, large & small.
But I've also never gone with a front load washer either.
If you get them, you'll have to keep us all updated since I've been seeing them all over the place now!
My folks have a front load Maytag washer and swear they will never buy another front load washer again. I think the reasons are: 1) the front loader doesn't get their clothes very clean, 2) it leaks pretty badly - they have it setting in a drip pan, and 3) it "walks" all over from the vibrations.
I know a lot of people that have had problems with LG phones also, but not sure if that translates into washer/dryers also.

Well I bought them tonight! Delivery on Sunday.. Glad I'm not a delivery driver for them!!
I'll let you all know how they work out.
I know getting them level is critical and they will be on a concrete floor so that will help.
The leaking issue on some manufactures is when they over suds.
It looks like We will be changing detergent also.. Tide HE
A lot of people complain about not getting clothes as clean due to using standard detergent but cutting proportion in half to control suds when in fact it lessens cleaning capabilities.
I have been reading up on all the new frt loaders..
Nobody wants to deal on them price wise.
I did manage 7% discount to offset tax:blah: and I even dealt with the General Mgr of the store..Oh and free Delivery.

Looking forward to hearing the reports over time!
It should be quite a while till I'm due to replace mine....but I'd like to keep my eye out for new things!
I had a hard time finding a washer with a rinse that wasn't just cold. I need hot wash & rinse sometimes.....grease, you know....;)

Didn't LG used to be Gold Star? They seem to have a better rep now than Gold Star used to have....

Yes they did and they sent their baseline products to the U.S. for several years while developing their Asian high line market. Now they are hitting the U.S. market under the L.G.(lifes good) brand.

i have a LG washer and dryer, what models they are im not sure. I love them. we got a front loader so that we could wash our king size comforter. it barley fits in the washer and it fits really well in the dryer. we can also wash a set of cammies, 3 pairs of jeans, and about 4 towels at the same time. i have not noticed any wear on them yet. we paid a lot for them but it was well worth it. i have levelized billing for water and electric so i have not noticed a change in the bill since we got them. i will look into it tomorrow (got school today after work).
washer: WM1832CW
Dryer: DLE2532
i must also say that they are very quiet.

Well after 20 months of use I am pleased to say that both units have been flawless. I did have a slight door seal leak on the washer after the 1st use and after applying some 303 aerospace to the seal no more leaks.
NO vibration issues and very quiet as fearlessfreap24 had commented.

Great to hear I1! Sadly, yesterday I went to turn on our Washer and all I heard was 'buzzz' after it had filled up with water. Our old house had some really nice Kenmore Front loaders, but the buyer wanted them, and we couldn't say no because he paid the asking price. I'm not really sure what brand to get. It seems like I see copy's of the Kenmore Front Loader Washers all over the place in stores. I looked at a really nice pair of the new 'colored' line of Kenmore elite Washer's and Dryer's which were pricey, but I wouldn't be suprised if they lasted 20+ years. The coolest one I saw was a Washer/Dryer Combo Kenmore Front Loader. Although then I'm weary as to how well it dries clothes :paranoid:... Well anyways happy to see your purchase worked out well!

Are you sure it's "lifes good"? My Korean friend told me LG is "Lucky Goldstar"

LG was formed from the combination of Lucky Chemicals and Goldstar Electronics, both owned by the same companies, which was rebranded LG, who's tag line is Life's Good. The offical company name is LG.
Pilot4Life: If you are looking at Kenmore, they are made by LG for Sears.
And yes I know too much about LG  , but it's only because I sell their home video products.

When they were made in Huntsville Alabama I bought a Goldstar 25" color TV. Its features were equal to or ahead of the big brand names of the day and it was $100 less than they were. That was 17 years ago and I just gave the still working TV away a couple of weeks ago.
When I got an LG phone from Verizon I went through FIVE of the buggers! When I was at my wits end the last one worked just fine....finally. I hope their major appliances are constructed as well as that old Goldstar.

I absolutely love my LG Washer & Dryer.. Very nice front load, very quiet, very efficient, they do a great job, they a have a nice startup noise, much better than any american washer/dryer I have had or used previously.. Samsung finally brought their washers & dryers over, but based on what i've seen at Lowes the text/graphics appear to wear off, the LG doesnt have that issue because of they way they are designed.. I have a Samsung fridge and I love it, works very well and looks great.. LG & Samsung were rated poorly when they first came into the U.S. a while back (they needed to figure out what us picky americans did and did not like), after their first release of items they improved their product and now they are fantastic.. I don't think you will have any issue with your items at all.. I have had mine for 2 years now, the only problem I had was w/ the fridge, I had the freezer set to -2 degrees and it froze the tube for the ice machine.. simple fix was to raise the temp a little bit :)
Anywho, I think you'll be very very happy!

Kenmore is not made by LG..
Kenmore/Whirlpool/Kitchenaid/Amana are all the same.. different features with each but the same base model.. I have never been impressed with kenmore appliances.. I have a GE Profile Range / Microwave and they are ok, but Kenmore has always seemed cheapy..
