I am looking to get a repair/maintenance manual for my 2000 Accord. Anyone have a suggestion on which one is the best? I appreciate your help.

I appreciate your help. Bean 06-24-2003, 05:39 AM I've used both Chiltons and Haynes on cars I have worked on. I prefer the Haynes for simplicity and nice pics, but sometimes the Chiltons has better detail on a particular job. If you plan on doing most of your own work, I'd get both. zwierhiem 06-28-2003, 08:09 AM Where would you recommend getting either one of these manuals? I actually need one for my CR-V by Wednesday. Would a place like autozone be a good place to go? according2me 06-28-2003, 11:11 AM I've used the Haynes manuals for several vehicles and they are usually available from Pepboys, but if you're going to be doing most of your own repair/maintenance, you might consider getting the official Honda repair manual from the Helms site. http://www.helminc.com/helm/search_service_owner.asp?Style=&class%5F2=AHM&mscsid=FCRT1GUV0T3W8J12HW9NHMVR598J4X1F pigpen6_34 06-28-2003, 04:07 PM Should be able to go to any auto place and get a haynes manual. I agree with according2me with going with the honda repair manual. I've got a Haynes for my car, and it works but is vague in some areas. Wolf 08-01-2003, 10:15 AM I just received my official Honda service manual from Helm Inc. It is WAY overkill at 1500+ pages. I doubt if I'll ever use more than 5% of it. Having said that, I also know I'll never lack detailed information for any repair or replacement necessary. Is it worth it at $70? For me, yes. One warning for V6 owners. This manual only covers the 4-cylinder engine. There's a supplement manual for the V6. |
