It'd make a good test mule or maybe a race car.

Still, what a shame!

Here's to hoping WDP doesn't become the "bad luck" color every Honda has apparently ever had.

wow 5k probably going to go up but still!

that cant be more than 10k in body damage.

Man i would love to buy that car, that would be a serious deal!

although re-selling and repairing it wouldn't be fun.

If the car got rear-ended, what happened to the front? I'm guessing it hit another car or a pole, but the auction doesn't say.

I bet it will cost at least $10k if you plan on using OEM parts. The entire car will almost need repainting to get the color to blend in properly... that alone will be a few thousand. New rear end, new right front... it'll add up quickly. Not to mention this car likely has some frame damage.

I wonder if someone was going for a test drive or if it was a salesperson.

even if you bought this car and just off loaded the parts you could make some money.
I bet the dealer is making more on this then if he would have sold it - (got a check for the invoice price from Honda from the insurance co and then bought it back for probably a few hundred, now will sell it for 5 or 10k. ).
Maybe it was a slow month haha.

Since it wasn't titled it was probably a testdrive gone horribly wrong.

what is wrong with you trading in a FX 35 AWD!!
That car has an amazing exhaust note that makes you feel likes your going faster than you really are. My father has had one since 03 and it has like 90xxx miles and it runs like a charm..

Just wanted to share with you.. :lmao:

On a positive note, the car held up pretty well. The crash didn't affect the passenger cage and rear doors.

Why would they? The car got hit from behind and had a minimal frontal impact. If the airbags deployed they'd likely cause more harm than good to the occupants.

if a new untitled, unsold car was totaled by the dealer's insurance carrier, it probably sustained at least 70% of its selling price in damage.

Just the exhaust alone is probably near $1500. The white pearl paint, if anything like my sapphire blue pearl is a bitch to lay down. My deer hit alone had 20 hrs of paint work on 2 panels.

If the body is bent bad enough the interior will need stripping to facilitate measuring and pulling or replacing. Those trunk pans and quarters are shot, the aft rails are shot for sure and I'll bet it shoved the rear suspension subframe forward.

Not a car I'd ever want, it'll probably end up being parts of several cars all put together by some shady body place. The title will get cleaned and no one will be the wiser, some poor sucker will end up with it. Then when they (the buyer) find the factory warranty is VOID because it was totaled, as Honda will have it in the system. Oh well.

It was probably bent up more than when it was initially damaged so the car could be driven back to the dealership.

Frequently vehicles like this purchased for sale in Mexico where decent body work can be done for reasonable prices. It will probably stay there, as such things as salvage titles carry little meaning.

At the present bid of $7000, a $15,000 body shop job in the US makes no sense, and that is probably what it would cost to do it right. With a salvage title, it would be tough to sell it in the US for $20,000.
