Well we have 3300 miles on our new EXL V6 and we have an issue that my dealer doesn't have an answer for, at least right now.......Here it is, when we put it in drive (with foot off the break) you can feel it go into gear a 2nd time about 1/2 a second after...Dealer mechanic put a scan on it and said it was a clutch plate hitting again(nothing to worry about)....If you shift into drive with your foot on the brake you do not feel it....Any one else with this issue ??

You can shift into drive with the foot off the brake? whatever happened to the safety interlock?
Or is this from neutral into drive?

The safety interlock is only for coming out of park IIRC.

You CAN shift into Drive with your foot off the brake...I think? And even then, onlyif you're coming from Reverse (or Neutral). If you're coming from Park, then no. The first scenario makes a ton of sense...usually you back out of your driveway/parking spot and then shift into Drive. Unless you're like me and love parking backwards to avoid engaging reverse with a cold engine/tranny.
But the question is not asking about that. It's about after shifting into drive, after you're off the brakes.
