I thought this would help those that have asked questions about the Flex Orbital polisher which is the hottest and most sought after polsiher - so much so that they are sold out in North America at this moment

This review below is great because it provides direct comparisons to the little brother the PC (or sister some may argue..lol) and it's big brother the Rotary

I see this as being a very nice addition to a professionals arsenal...because of the ability to go to from Dual Action to Rotary (for cutting power)

However, for the casual (i.e. moderate idiot) user/detailer like myself...sticking to a PC or possibly a Cyclo (on my want list) is the best route MCH?

A little more time is worth the lesser chance off f'ing up while cutting or having 'the heat build', imho. If I was to leave a Flex in on DA mode, it really defeats the purpose of it's abilities.

This is noy a machine that can be used to change from orbital to forced rotation - this is a orbital machine like the PC BUT it has more OPM and a longer throw which provides the quicker correction.

If you have a PC and are only doing your own vehicles and the need to do multiple passes over an area to get the level of correction you need does not bother you - I would say save you cash.

With a little common sense burning through the clear should not be an issue - this is NOT a rotary and is not nearly as dangerous in use...

I have read only one account of burning clear with the flex and that was someone who made a poor choice in polish / pad / paint pairing - he used the flex with Menzerna Power Gloss ( this stuff is like a bottle of rocks) and an Orange pad (Yellow Pad) on 1996 Honda soft paint = IMO he was asking to for CC burn through!!

The Flex has forced rotation yet still oscillates in a random pattern. It doesn't have a rotary only mode, that requires a rotary buffer. It is a dual action buffer on mega steroids.

I have the PC & Cyclo but I'm strongly considering this one.

$270 is the least I've seen and all vendors are sold out! That's plus shipping & pads.
