ERICH80 02-11-2008, 08:49 AM Hey Everybody. To All The People Who Ordered Their Cars, How Long Did It Take From The Time You Ordered It Till It Arrived? My Salesman Told Me Up To 12 Weeks. Has Anybody Else Waited That Long? I Can't Wait To Get My New Car And I'm The Most Impatient Person You'll Ever Meet.
krazyfiend 02-11-2008, 11:06 AM I know of a local guy waiting since Early November for the same model car you have on order...accept some specifics... HFP Kit on San Marino red w/ tan interior.... 6MT ... I'm not sure what the hold up is...I know he's getting antsy =)
btw, welcome to DA!
Taffy 02-11-2008, 12:57 PM I ordered mine I suppose is what you call it.It took 2 weeks and 6 days to get here :)
They did a Dealer locate and found one on the 2nd week, they rerouted the car to my dealer from the Assembly plant. All was great! Maybe see if they can do that for ya.
jblaust 02-11-2008, 04:11 PM I was told these cars are very rare. In November when I bought mine it was 1 of only 35 in the country at the time. They were expecting a small shipment of more by the begining of 2008 and then some more in the spring. The 6speed coupe will always be a limited edition model from what I was told by my dealer.
krazyfiend 02-11-2008, 04:47 PM There seems to always be one on tap.. 6mt or 5at here in indy, it just isn't always the paint or options folks want...lately the ones theyve been getting around here are loaded to the gills and go fast or are in the showroom next to a new kitted out s2000. (maybe mugen?). I'm hoping to see these new owners join DA ..or out n about so I can drop business card w/ our website addy on it.
i think its honestly a matter of what can be acquired, who owes who favors and along the same line and who clears honda's quickly;commanding pull in the region. Heck, we're like and hour and a half - 2 hrs away from the columbus plant.
jblaust 02-11-2008, 04:55 PM I was told that The bigger dealers in certain areas usually have 1 maybe 2 and thats it. My dealer is Rick Case Honda they are supposed to be the biggest Honda Dealer in the country. They didnt have any 6spd accords from nov-Jan as far as I know. I live down the street and go there for free car washes im entitled to. I check in to see what they have in stock alot. I was actually there getting a brake job on my Honda Pilot when they rolled my 6spd into the show room (They had 2). I wasnt even looking to buy a car. I test drove 1 and I fell in love! Went home did some homework and came back the next day haggled the price a little to 28k and drove the car home.

ERICH80 02-12-2008, 04:46 AM It's Funny, I Don't Think It Was 2 Min From When I Entered My First Post That My Salesman Called Me To Tell Me He Found One Like The One I Ordered But...it Had A Few Extra Stuff I Don't Really Want/care About, mainly It Has Lojack Installed, splash Guards, Wheel Locks, And A Trunk Tray. He Told Me Not To Get My Hopes Up And He Would Let Me Know Today. I Have My Fingers Crossed.
garrickhuie 02-12-2008, 05:04 AM I got my car last week, and took me two weeks to get a car. They first originally tried to locate the car but I didnt want them to drive the car from a dealer 6 hours away. Secondly, I was thinking about canceling the car (since i really didnt need a new car, impulse buy) and then I got a call that they got one coming from the factory and i was able to pick it up in 5 days. Good thing I waited because I love the car.

East Coast dealers had a VERY hard time getting 08s when they first came out. Especially coupes. I'd heard that 07s were still coming off the production lines as of October. Ridiculous.
ERICH80 02-12-2008, 09:17 AM I Just Got Off The Phone With My Salesman And He Got My Car!they Have To Pdi It First But I Will Be An Official Accord Owner As Of Saturday. I Can't Wait!
Taffy 02-12-2008, 11:06 AM Nice Congrats!

Let me guess....Burn's Honda in Marlton. Thats where I get my service done. Who is your salesman?
ERICH80 02-13-2008, 04:21 AM I Went With Belize Blue Pearl And Black Leather. Actually I Had A Bad Expierence In The Past With Burns. I Went With Willis In Burlington. It Is Far Away But They Treated Me Respectfully. I Actually Know The Service Manager At Burns So I Will Probably Have It Serviced There Especially Since It Is A Straight Shot Down Rt.73 From Where I Work. I Just Refuse To Buy From Them. Even Though I Hate Burns, My Experince Buying My Eclipse From The Cherry Hill Triplex Was Far Worse. That Place Is A Joke.
Bouncnb 02-13-2008, 07:26 AM Cool.....I didn't buy mine there also. But, I do get it serviced there. Not to happy with them right now about it though. I am over in Mt Laurel.
Taffy 02-13-2008, 07:55 AM I came close to getting that color, they have one sitting on the lot where I got mine but with Navi.Or actually 2 the other is black but both 6-speed w/navi
Landshark67 02-16-2008, 03:37 AM FWIW - I ordered a Red V6 MT w/ Navi Coupe in December. Yesterday I received the build date for the vehicle. That's about 2.5 months. To be fair, the dealership told me that I would have to wait for the V6 6MT Coupes as they were not running many each week. There was also a Navi issue that I could never seem to get to the bottom of.
I'm in Michigan so getting the car before April is a bonus, however I am anxious to take delivery. This car is an alternative to an Audi S5 which I could have driven off the dealer lot in January. I figure the $25K I'm saving will keep me happy while I wait for the Honda Coupe to be delivered.
Hope yours comes in soon.
-Shark
P.S. - I'm looking into a plant tour and to see if Honda will let you watch the car being built. Might be interesting to see.
ERICH80 02-18-2008, 05:27 AM Well I Picked Up My Car On Saturday And All I Can Say Is Wow. I Actually Bought The Car Without Driving It First. All They Had Was An Automatic So Thats What I Test Drove. The 6 Speed Tranny Is Perfect Although I'm Going To Take It Easy For The First 600 Miles. This Car Was A Big Step Up From My 06 Eclipse.
