View Full Version : Elevator Etiquette

Everyday I ride a couple of elevators on the way to work. I'm surprised at the number of folks that clip their fingernails (thank goodness - no toenail clippers yet) on the elevator. While I applaud their efforts at personal hygiene, I'm not sure a cramped elevator is the best place to let the fingernails fly.

Your thoughts?

People have no respect!!! Especially some of the younger generation.
I am sure they would enjoy you stopping in their office and leaving clippings on their desk!!:D

Most hygiene is better kept up at home! I can't think of any I'd do in public!

To me this is in the same catagory as nose pickers & ear pickers!

Besides nails trim better after they're soaked, like after a shower.....

Would this fall under the bio-hazzard laws? Most places ANY bodily fluids in public are illegal now thanks to AIDS & other viruses. That nail that's flying through the air could've been places that could spread nasty stuff...

If these people don't have time at home....they could at least use the restroom for their nail trimming!

That's really disgusting. I can hear folks on my floor clipping away at times, and that really bugs me. Do it at home. Its akin to the guy in the cube next to me that is constantly hawking up some phlegm. It should be done in private.

:lmao: no toenail clippers yet!!!! :lmao:

luckily i haven't run into any of either!

i agree with the things that should be done in private... the guy who sits in the cube behind me is always doing SOMETHING. he's contantly clearing his throat or "blowing a fog horn" (well, blowing his nose, but it might as well be a freaking fog horn!!!). and if he isn't doing either of those, he's sipping his coffee like an old english woman at afternoon tea!!!!!

and he's always saying it' sbecause he has a cold. this guy is sick atleast 350 days of the year then!!!

the place i used to work at was mostly women and one time they found a fingernail on someone's desk and they freaked. there are worse things to find on a desk than a fingernail, at least it wasn't a hair. ewwww, i hate seeing hair where it shouldn't be.

it is better than making eye contact and casual chit chat with someone you may not like
