Today I got a panic call....Jacob's old Chevy truck apparently blew a head gasket! I called our towing service & after a 90 minute wait, it's finally on it's way here! I also called the local parts place & found they have the gaskets in stock!! So guess what we'll be doing tonight??!!
This is an '89 Chevy with a 350 in it, so it should go pretty quick. I told my prince to bring home his torque wrench..... maybe Jacob & I can start on it before the prince gets home....
Meanwhile, my car is moved out to Belle's spot....locked covered carport....so the garage is ready. If we don't get it done, then Belle will have to sleep outside, I'm not pushing a big ole truck into the garage!! Been there. Done that.
It's been such a nasty week!!!:(

Picked up the parts & am now waiting for his arrival. I think if I had the key, I'd just get going on this project...I hate waiting!!!
I told them they can all come over until the boys bedtime, if their homeworks done & they've had dinner... They can plant themselves in front of the TV.... at least then my daughter who's been dealing with an extra 2 year old all day, can have adult conversation!
Dad, Jacob & I will be having a long night!:o

Well......Jacob had his brother's help in "diagnosing" the problem.....
After 2 hours or so of tearing down.......
It's not the head gasket!
It's just a heater hose.........
Now it's getting put back together.
I have parts to return....again, since they gave me the wrong ones the first time. I HATE returning car parts!:bawling:
I am happy that it wasn't anything major. I do take part of the blame for it not being caught earlier because I'd normally have him put water in it here where I could see where it went for myself. Unfortunately, his brother is an auto tech....so I assumed he'd know what he was talking about. Teach me!
My gut said if all the water goes out QUICK hoses are the FIRST place you look.
Life goes on......
It should be back together eventually.;)
Luckily one VCR is recording West Wing & the other is recording the rest of the Day of Destruction movie...... :)

It went back home at about 10:30 last night......
No leaks & running like it did before.....it needs some work, there's no way it'll pass smog!
Jacon's not a tech, he's an electrician. His brother is a tech, but not a good one & he thinks he's "bothering" us so he won't ask for help. I think my prince & him need to spend a day playing with that truck to get it tuned better.....
I think this weekend may be the Ody's turn though!:D It's getting some heater control things replaced. The knob was broken to changed the fan, so we ordered several pieces that could've cuased it. Figuring something must have jammed to make the previous owner force the knob enough to break.....
