Can anyone assist me in resolving the problem (No Heat)...I live in the midwest and with the current cold spell it's getting really uncomfortable to drive so I have to fix this problem ASAP...

I verified that the thermostat works fine because the temp guage is operating normally but I suspect the 2 Heat sensors may need replacing...is my asumption correct?

How do I begin to narrow the problem???

Thanks for assisting

Welcome to the board.

More info is needed.

Year, model, and trim level for starters.

Also, a better description of the problem. It sounds like no heat inside? What do you mean by "the 2 heat sensors" ? Is the fan working? A/C? Mode buttons? When switching from cold to hot, can you hear the servos activating? If an older model, does it feel like the cable is stiff or is there unusual free play in the knob/lever operation?

What do you mean by "the 2 heat sensors" ?

The temp control on the inside is on a cable that goes to a valve just in front of the firewall, in the middle of the car. It is probably sticking closed (no heat) The temp dial will act like it is working but the valve is not opening.

Opposite effect is valve stuck open and hot air comes in when dial is turned to cold and you think your A/C is broken but its not. It's that pesky valve. You will have to take off the air intake boot to get at it or use a piece of wood to get at it to move the valve. The picture seen here is of the valve closed (no heat) All it does is control how much hot water goes through the heater core.
If it is stuck closed-- no heat-- If it is stuck open, when the A/C is on, it will blow warm/hot.

Did the heat ever work for you? I had bought a civic a few years ago and there was no heat. I didn't mind cause I live in FLA. It got chilly and I wanted heat so I tried to get it fixed. Turned out the previous owner bypassed the heater core by looping the coolant lines.

You may wanna check that. Sometimes the do that because the heater core has a leak but you can give it a shot.

Sounds like a heater core!

We had a few 6th gens come through the shop where I used to work at in need of a heater coil. Since the dash has to be removed to get to it, many skipped it and had it bypassed since these were Texas cars.

My dad's S40 has a bad heater core, but he just had it bypassed. :/

I also had a similar problem which was resolved with my 04 EX-L 4-cyl:
