My dearest Accord community:
I have an Accord - of course  - from 1999, it is 4 drs, 4 cyl, 2.3lts. It has 80000 KILOMETERS which in miles is: 49.709,70. The maintenace requeried amber light is on, assuming that service is getting close and that I know. Service like change of oil, filter, etc.
My question is that, with this amount of kilometers/miles that the car has, do you guys think that I have to change the timming belt and all its associates components?
I live in South America, whereas the temperature is around 30 centigrades or 86 F, the traffic is horrible, bumper to bumper all day long. The city is not the cleanest city in this world (typical from SA cities). I consider and take this variables seriously.
Please be so kind to help me out and tell me what I should have to do answering the above questions.
With my warm kindness, wishing you all the best

Items like timing belt and water pump generally have a mileage or time limit. You are not near the mileage limit but the original belt is now nine years old as is the water pump. If you plan on keeping the car I think it wise to replace those two items now

I think its a little early, but, its not going to hurt anything. I might stretch it to 10 if it were mine.

Seems as though I agree with RTexasF frequently and this is another one of them. Given the age and the warm climate, I would change both now if you plan to keep the car. If the old pump and belt were fine, you've spent the money you were going to spend a little early. If they are about to fail, especially in the case of the belt, it would be a much more expensive bill.

Rubber in the timing belt will continue to degrade over time, regardless if the car is being used or not, elevated temperature will further accelerate the deterioration of the rubber, 9 years is a long time especially when you stop and go which creates more shock loading on the belt as well.
I would recommend changing out the timing belt as the interference engine (where valves WILL hit piston top if the belt broke) will suffer expensive or potentially irrepairable damage.
The water pump is easy to get to while the timing belt is being changed as 95% of the labour required to change the water pump is the same as those required to change the timing belt.
It's your decision if you want to take the risk of timing belt breakage (I wouldn't) or if you want to change the water pump when you change the timing belt (I would).

Good point, you really want to do the water pump at the same time.

Yep. Past 7 years, time for the belts & water pump to be replaced.
There's a reason they say "this many miles" OR "this long":D

And I as predicted, this help of all of you take me out of my doubts of this regard once and for all. You guys are the best. Thre cream, A number 1. Let me thank you so much for your help.
Ah, I almost forgot, since I plan to have this car for a really considerable amount of time, so yes, I will change belts and water pump.
Once again, a huge thanks to all of you

Like others have said get it done asap. You also mentioned an oil and filter change which is good. One other thing to consider is getting an atf drain and refill done..very important preventive maintenance for the trans. It will thank you for it.
