good news! my house appraised at almost 50k more than we paid for it a year and a half ago. this means it can easily be refinanced, hopefully with only one of our names on it so that i can move out and on with my own life!!! :D

bonus-we can get some cash back at 0% as well, which can help me trade in the damaged accord on a new one much more easily!

keep your fingers crossed for me! i like good news much better than everything else that has been going on lately! :)

funny thing is, now we may end up fighting over who gets to stay in the house! we cna do an interest only loan for 5 years if we want which would mean a monthly "mortgage" payment of only about $250! i can actually AFFORD the house and then some at that price! but i think i might want to start "fresh" instead and let him have the house.

then i'd lean towards telling him he has to get a small home equity loan and give me those proceeds as compensation of sorts so i can afford an apartment and furniture easier. and then just call it even at that point. i think he can get up to 10k at the 0% in a home equity loan. we'd use that to pay off the 0% financing on the computer and the lowe's 0% stuff, then the rest should go to me because he wll have a MUCH cheaper place to live in than i will ever be able to find.

yep, i'm finally happy and excited about the outlook for the much closer future now!! :D

and event hough i could possibly get some cash out of this deal which would enable me to get a tsx if i really want to, i don't think that would be the most "responsible" route to take for now. i need to get more money in my actual paycheck for that one! but here's hoping that i can not only move out and on, but also get a new accord! :)

I think the houses around here are appraising for 100-150 more than a year ago and that's with no work done to them...lol amazing isn't it. Our development was built in '79, starting prices at 60k. A neighbor moved in in '85, he paid 185K. We moved in '93 and paid 255K. Another neighbor just sold his house for 711K. :o

So...why are you just going to give him the house? Shouldn't you guys just sell it and move on?

it would be alot easier to just "sell" my portion to him rather than go thru the process of finding another buyer and all of the work involved around that. then whenever he wants to move on, he can deal with the issues around the house and all. in the meantime i can be gone and free of the hassle.

of course like i said, i'd insist on getting some cash from the refinancing though as compensation.

now, if i knew we could SELL it for 130k, i'd put the for sale sign out front today. then we could split the 44k profit and go our seperate ways! :lmao:

but i highly doubt we'd be able to sell it for more than 100k even in the shape it's in right now. :(

currently, yep. it sucks. but until now, it was the only option financially.... and we weren;tg oing to file for divorce until we were able to be completely seperate living wise. so now i'm happy because if we can get this all taken care fo then that means we can officially be ex's.
